(30*) 102 Deaths WARBURTON - William Warburton, peacefully, on July 24, 2005, at the Exeter Villa in his 83rd year. Lovingly remem- bered by his children William Warburton, Susan and Ben Hoogenboom, and Mary and Martyn Van Essen, grandchil- dren Ben and Jenna, Kara, Joel, Ian and Wynn, Kirsten, Jerry, Samantha and Brandon, and sis- ters and brother-in-law Mollie Reesor, Barbara Ockenden, Dorothy and Harry Troughton, and Norma and Franklin Sparrow. Bill was predeceased by his first wife and the chil- dren's mother, Dorothy (Leitch) Warburton (1980), second wife Dorothy (Folliott) Warburton (1995), by parents William and Olive (Whitehead) Warburton and by brothers-in-law Clayton Reesor and William Ockenden. Bill was a member of the Canadian Armed Forces (1942- 1973), attaining the rank of Warrant Officer. During his thir- ty years of service as a non-com- missioned officer, Bill was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, the 1939-1945 War Medal, and the Special Service Medal (serving with NATO). Bill also served the community with his contribu- tions as People's Warden and Rector's Warden of Trivitt Memorial Anglican Church, Exeter, for many years. He will be remembered for his sense of humour, stories of his many trav- els, and bear hugs and whisker rubs. Thank you Bill for show- ing the importance of pride in self, community and country. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 27th at Trivitt Memorial Anglican Church at 1 pm. with Reverend Bill Ward, officiating. Cremation to follow. Visitation from 7-9pm on Tuesday and one hour prior to the service. Interment of ashes at Exeter Cemetery. Memorial donations to South Huron Hospital would be appreciated by the family. Predeceased by his wives Kathleen (1980) and Thelma (1997). He is survived by his daughter, Joan Greenlee (and Gardner) of Lucan, his son Kenneth Anderson (and Marylou) of London, five grand- children, Derek (Danielle), Deborah (Chris), Chad, Hilary (Mark), Richard and two great- grandchildren, Kayin and Spencer. Arriving from Northern Ireland by boat in 1953, he worked for Reid's Beans and Seeds in Chatham, Dashwood and Thedford. Encouraged by the Reverends Morley Pinkney and Bill Millman, George entered semi- nary at Huron College, the Seager Hall Program for mature postulants. He served as Rector in the Parish of Gorrie, Fordwich and Wroxeter; as Assistant Curate in St. James Westminister; and Rector of St. Paul's, Chatham and Trivitt Memorial, Exeter with St. John - By -The -Lake, Grand Bend. In the early years of WWII, George was one of the first to enlist with the R.A.F. becoming a Flight Lieutenant and radio operator on Lancaster bombing raids. Perhaps his crowning moment was being awarded with the Distinguishing Flying Cross by King George VI. George loved gardening, photography, travel- ling to English Cathedrals and the Book of Common Prayer. Long after his body suffered sev- eral strokes, his intellect remained acute and he would spend many hours listening to classical music in his room at the Exeter Villa.
