Anyone is wel- come to attend and help plan the big 40th Anniversary on Aug., 27th. Call Rose Erb at 236-7733 and leave a message. Congratulations to Wayne and Anita McKinnon (nee Bedard) who were married on Sat., June 25th at St. Boniface Church, with reception and dinner at the Complex in Zurich. The bride is the daughter of Randy and Francis Bedard. The groom is the son of Ray KcKinnon and Joan all of Zurich. The Promise, a musical pageant of the Life of Christ will be held in Forest at the outdoor amphitheater from July 8th to 10th and July 15th to 17th each night at 8:30 p.m. Gates open at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 18 years old. Bring along your lawn chairs. A family reunion was held at the pavilion in Dashwood on Saturday, June 25th for Nora Corriveau of the Blue Water Rest Home Apartments with her chil- dren and their spouses, grand and great grand- children are coming. On Sun., June 26th the 50th annual Fleischauer family reunion and picnic was held at the Dashwood Park with some relatives going from Zurich and area. The Blood Donor Clinic at the complex in Zurich is on Thurs., June 30th from 5 to 8 p.m. Please stop by any time during those hours to donate. Be sure and get your elimination draw and dance tickets early for the draw on Fri., July 22nd. You can win up to $1,000. cash prizes. "Chris and the New Boys" will provide the music which is a good dancing band. Cost is $10.00 with lunch from various stores around town. Advance tickets for the Chicken Barbecue Thurs., July 28th from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Available at Tasty Nu Bakery, C. G. Farm Supply or at the Zurich Mennonite Church at $11 adult and $5 for children under 10 years of age. There will be some musical entertainment outside from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. while you are enjoy- ing your meat. The Zurich Community Yard Sale will be held on Sat., Aug. 13th. The next Fair Board meeting is Thurs., July 14th, 8 p.m. at the Township Hall. Congratulations to Don and Shirley Mousseau who celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on Sunday at their home, R.R. 2, Hensall with a big tent outside. Several friends, relatives and neighbours attended the Open House and helped them to enjoy this happy occasion. Joe Overholt and his group played great music just like the gold old days at the Pineridge Chalet. The couples anniversary is on June 30th. Fireworks will be held in Grand Bend on Canada Day, Fri., July 1st on the beach at dusk. Bring your lawn chair. May we offer our sincere sympathy to the family and relatives of the late Ken Gascho who passed away recently. Especially to his wife Della. Welcome back to Jack and Urszula Wisniewski of Grand Bend who recently spent a couple weeks in Europe visiting family members and friends. The couple also run the Zurich Pharmacy. The girls at the Tasty Nu Bakery had a little get together last week at Erb's Country Kitchen for Ann Steinbach as she has retired recently after working at the bake shop for many years. We will miss seeing her at the Tasty -Nu. Happy belated 60th birthday wishes go out to Percy Bedard on June 20th. Helen MacLean and her sister Betty Oke returned home recently from a holi- day in Prince Edward Island where they visited Helen's in-laws and toured around the area. They were 65 feet up in a light house and enjoyed eating fresh lobster and other seafood. A Buck and Doe was held on June 18th for Terri Luther and Chris George at the Dashwood Community Centre. She is the daughter of Carole and Larry Luther of Grand Bend. They are being married in September. A bridal show- er was held for Terri on June 26th at the home of her Aunt, Joanne Bengough in Hensall. John and Cathy Taylor are happy to announce the arrival of their fourth grandchild, "Brooke" who was born on June 3rd to proud parents, Chris and Lisa Taylor and the sev- enth great grandchild for Betty Grenier of Hensall. A lovely 150th Anniversary celebration was held for St. Patrick's Parish in Lucan on Saturday and Sunday with special Masses and sever- al activities taking place in a large tent. Most Reverend Anthony Daniels officiated mass with Pastor Father Vince and four other visiting priests including Father Mooney. Entertainment and pot luck luncheon was enjoyed by all. Jerome and I enjoyed celebrating our 43rd Wedding Anniversary on June 23rd. Daughter, Heather and Paul Klopp celebrated their 21st Wedding Anniversary on the same day. Our daugh- ter Beth and Joe Boyle of Grand Bend celebrated their Wedding Anniversary on June 26th. Best wishes for a speedy recovery to Ron Groke of Zurich who is a patient in University Hospital. The monthly Birthday Party for the residents at Blue Water Rest Home for June will be held on June 29th by the Crediton United Church group at 2:30 p.m. The next planning meet- ing for the 150th Anniversary of Zurich is Wed., June 29th at St. Peter's Lutheran Church Hall at 7:30 p.m. St. Peter's Lutheran Church held an outdoor service at Black Bush School House recently, fol- lowed by lunch. There will be a family camping weekend from July 15th to 17th at Windmill Trailer Park in Fullerton for members of the Lutheran Church. Cindy Denomme attend- ed the Annual Conference of the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario held in Richmond Hill from June 12th to 15th along with Sandra Strang from South Huron. Francis and Cindy Denomme recently wel- comed home their son Joe who has been living in Whistler B. C. for the past few years. They are also preparing to welcome home their daughter Michelle. Michelle has been away since August living in Belgium on a Rotary International Youth Exchange Program. While living in Belgium, Michelle trav- elled to such places as Spain, Rome, Ireland, Paris, Amsterdam and Provence. The final two weeks of her exchange were spent travelling Europe on a bus with fel- low Rotary Exchange stu- dents from around the world.
