everyone to get in a
spending mood.
EXETER - Conservation supporters were in a gener-
ous mood Thursday night as they dipped into their
wallets and chequebooks to the tune of about $38,000,
setting a new record at the annual fundraiser held at
the South Huron Rec Centre.
The event, sponsored by the Ausable Bayfield
Conservation Foundation and the Exeter Lions Club
supports: conservation education programs for stu-
dents and the public; trail improvements at
Bannockburn, Morrison Dam and Rock Glen
Conservation areas; stocking the Morrison Reservoir
with trout for the annual Fishing Derby and for contin-
uing the South Huron Trail project.
Dinner Chair Rob Reid encouraged everyone to bid
aggressively on the auction items...and they did.
Rae Arm Ladoucer of Exeter was the featured artist
with an original stained glass design which had been
transformed into a water wall. It is now displayed at
Greg Hodgins' and George Godbolt's office in Exeter.
Ladoucer is a Lapidarian who hand cuts all the
stones used in her artwork. She also recycles rusted
metal and then paints on it to give life to her paint-
ings.
