Pink ribbon girls launch fundraising calendar for breast cancer
By Stephanie Mandziuk
TIMES -ADVOCATE STAFF
EXETER — They call themselves the Pink Ribbon
Girls and they're on a mission ... to raise money for the
Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation - Ontario
Chapter.
The group is putting together a calendar for 2006.
Committee member Sid Reaburn says, "Women of
every age, some breast cancer survivors or those who
have lost people at various times are taking part. The
calendar will show the beauty of real women through-
out their lives."
It's the first time a calendar like this has been initiat-
ed in Huron County for this specific charity.
Reaburn says each month will have a theme like
Mother's Day in May and Canada Day in July.
So far the group has had its first photo shoot, a win -
ter scene at Leon's Bush outside Exeter.
An official calendar launch is in the works for mid-
October.
In the meantime, the Pink Ribbon Girls are looking
for private donations, sponsors and volunteers for sup-
port.
For more information contact Sid Reaburn at 262-
3234 or Barb Dunlop at 234-6140.
