The Jets holding a 2-0 lead after one period on goals by Adam Thompson and Corey Smith and led by 3-2 after the second with Bill Byers adding the third Jet's goal. But Lucan Ilderton couldn't hang on for the win as two Goderich power play goals in the third gave them a 4-3 win and a 1-0 lead in the series. Sunday night in Goderich, the Jets built a 5-1 lead on goals by Brady Kjeldgaard, Andy Marshall, Craig Black, Shaun Fairweather and Steve Matthews before hanging on for the 5-4 win to tie the series. Jets general manager Rob Andrews said Sunday night's game fea- tured one of the strangest calls he has seen made. A Jets player was given a delay -of -game penalty while waiting behind his own net while a Goderich player was standing in front. "The referee has the right to blow it down and have a faceoff. But not give a penalty....it could have cost us." Andrews said after the Jets went up 5-1 the team "put it in coast mode. It's not that they were threatening to beat us, our guys gave one up, then another. The next thing you know it's a one -goal game." While the Jets were missing several players from their lineup, Andrews said they would have a full lineup again this weekend.
