Money stolen
VANASTRA — On Jan. 18 at 8:30 a.m., OPP officers
were called to Kate's Station on London Road near
Vanastra in Huron East over a theft.
The officer found that someone overnight had
attacked the outside pop machine forcing it open and
stealing roughly $200 in coin. The Pepsi machine was
heavily damaged after the thieves had forced the unit
open. If you have information about this theft and van-
dalism to the pop machine, call the local OPP or
Crimestoppers.
Capsule Comments
by Ernie Miatello
Blood sugar levels fluctuate greatly throughout
the day. Between meals levels plunge to about
half what they are after you eat a meal. After
eating levels rebound to around double the
fasting levels. It's better to eat six small meals a day than 3 big
ones. This provides a more even sugar level throughout the day.
And certainly don't skip breakfast.
Why is this important? Low blood sugars can affect your moods and
can lead to crankiness, lethargic afternoons, short-tempered
evenings and restless sleeps. So to be good to yourself and your
family and co-workers, eat often and sensibly.
January is Alzheimer's Month. How can you reduce the risk of this
debilitating disease? Do regular physical activity. Keep
homocysteine levels down. Folic acid supplements (About 1 mg per
day) can help. Keep blood pressure and cholesterol under control.
Do mentally stimulating activities (crosswords, card games and
reading).
It will be a great day when the cause of Alzheimer's is discovered.
Much research into this disease is being done worldwide in the
hope that the actual cause of the disease is understood and
guidelines for treatment and prevention can be found.

TOTAL, 2846 SO. ET. (264.4 MI)
Plan H5-3-649 Elegant Rancher This expansive three-bedroom rancher has more than 2,800 square feet of finished living area, making it well suited
for families who enjoy entertaining. An arched entry, arched windows and stone cladding give the exterior a look of traditional elegance. Inside, arched
doorways create more architectural interest. Nine -foot ceilings make the generously sized rooms feel even larger. The entry leads directly to a huge great
room with an adjacent kitchen and breakfast nook. This pleasant open area features a gas fireplace with built-in entertainment units and french doors
that open to a back yard patio. The contemporary kitchen features a half -circle work island with a cook top. To one side, a large eating nook is set into a
bayed window with views of the back yard garden and patio area. A formal dining room off the great room shares a see-through gas fireplace with the
den. The irregular shape of the dining room makes it suitable for either a round or rectangular table. The flexible den has a door to the powder room,
making it useful as a guest bedroom or a formal home office. Three bedrooms and the laundry room are situated along one side of the home, behind the
double garage. The two children's bedrooms share a four -piece bathroom through sliding pocket doors. The master bedroom suite boasts a luxurious
ensuite with dual sinks, a boxed out soaker tub, separate shower and enclosed toilet. A large walk-in closet provides plenty of space for clothes.
Additional cupboards for linen and coats are found in the hall of the bedroom wing. This home has 2,846 square feet of finished living space and
measures 52 feet wide by 86 feet 1 inch deep. The plan comes with an optional 338 -square foot bonus room. Plans for design H5-3-649 are available
