Summary Tuesday: The fed steers and heifers sold at prices $1 to $2 higher. Fancy and double mus- cle steers and heifers sold 85 to 89. Choice steers and heifers sold 75 to 80, and 2nd cut steers and heifers sold 70 to 75. The cows sold on a steady market. Thursday: The veal sold at steady prices on an active trade. The good light lambs sold $10 to $20 higher with the balance selling steady to last weeks market. Friday: The calves traded at prices $5 to $8 higher while the yearlings sold $2 to $3 higher. Steers There were 354 steers on offer. Enoch Martin, Linwood con- signed one limo steer weighing 1335 lbs which sold to Holly Park Meat Packers for 89. His overall offering of ten steers averaged 1376 lbs selling for an average price of 84.28. Eight limo steers consigned by Owen B. Martin, Wellesley averaged 1294 lbs which sold for an average price of 84.65 with his top steer weighing 1280 lbs selling to Norwich Packers for 88. Esther Calder, Mount Forest consigned one limo steer weighing 1425 lbs which sold to Holly Park Meat Packers for 85.25. Heifers There were 237 heifers on offer. Eusi Farms, Forest consigned one blue heifer weighing 1175 lbs which sold for 88. Their POLICE BRIEFS Truck blitz MIDDLESEX — On Sept.7 a truck blitz was held at the MTO yard on Egremont Drive in Adelaide Metcalfe. Middlesex OPP, Western Region Traffic Unit and Strathroy Caradoc Police escorted trucks for the inspection. A total of nine charges were laid on the 22 trucks inspected. Charges included no pretrip inspections, overweight, and expired annual inspections.
