Officers learned the complainant received an e-mail reporting to be from Citi Bank requesting confirmation of the customer's e-mail address. The recipient was told to enter a special link to the bank and type in their ATM/debit card number and PIN. Banks never ask cus- tomers for ATM card numbers and PIN, since they already have this information. Impaired driving offences HURON — Over the weekend of July 16-18, Huron OPP suspended the licences of four motorists for 12 hours when they registered a "warn" on roadside tests. Three males from South Huron and one male from Central Huron were issued the 12 -hour suspensions. Two motorists in Huron County have been charged under the Criminal Code for impaired driving. The first offence occurred July 17 when a 22 -year- old male from South Huron was charged with impaired driving in Huron East Township. The second incident occurred July 18 and started outside of Hensall. A short pursuit ended in the charg- Please have your cats spayed or neutered Dear Editor, This letter is for the person who, approximately one year ago, kicked out their smoke -gray colored female cat, and to all the others who let their unadultered cats out to play. I do not know your reasoning for this. Whether it be that you had let her out to play and she came home with a belly full of babies, or the fact that you did not want this little girl, as she is now known as Bitsy. Maybe she even ran away when you let her out. When I found her last summer in a shrub at our home, she was half starved, very pregnant and death- ly afraid of humans. I cannot see any animal go through a struggle like this, so I started to feed her. Some, at this point, may say it's my fault, but I will continue. Two weeks later, she had four kittens in the neigh- bour's garage. When they were old enough to move, she brought them to an area under my deck. I fed and cared for her and her babies until I found homes for the kittens, with my son taking in two of them. No one wants Bitsy as she is an unspayed, stray female cat. She survived the winter by living in her little house (a cardboard box and blankets) beside the freezer in my garage. I have kept her going in the hopes of find- ing her a home. I have called all available resources in hopes of this, and even placed a call to a local vet to see if they would reduce the rate of having her spayed. I was refused reduced rates and denied place- ment at pet rescue because it is full. My home is full with the two from her previous litter and one other. On May 22 of this year, Bitsy gave birth to five more kittens behind the freezer in my garage. I have had countless hours of phone calls and e-mails trying to find a home for the kittens. The kittens and Bitsy play in the yard and driveway all day. They are all litter trained and have so much love to give to that right person. I know who the daddy cat is and where his owners live; should they share the responsibility of this with me? Shouldn't the owner get daddy neutered? Why does Hensall have a cat bylaw and Exeter doesn't? It seems that no one at the town office can answer this for me, and no one there would like a kitten. I have called one shelter and if I pay $70 a cat, they will take them for me; $70 x 6 = $420. Let me see, I am currently spending $25 plus a week for the cat lit- ter and cat food to keep these cats alive. If I could afford the $420, I would have had Bitsy, who is not my cat, spayed and I wouldn't be writing this letter. I am a responsible pet owner and my three cats have had their little boy surgeries. To everyone who reads this, if you let your cats out- side, please have them spayed or neutered. If you no longer want your pet(s), be responsible and find a home for them instead of leaving them out in the cold winter without food and shelter. I have spent count- less hours hosing off the side of my house from some wandering males marking their turf. Maybe the owner of these cats would like to help me clean this! The other time is spent trying to find a home for six cats. SHERRIE THOMSON, P.O. Box 2096 Exeter, Ontario ing of the driver and passenger.
