End of season for
Exeter HRCC-S office
EXETER — The Exeter Human Resource Centre
of Canada for Students (HRCC-S) will close its
doors for the season on July 30.
The HRCC-S has enjoyed over
35 summers of success helping
students and businesses with
their employment needs. This
summer, the Goderich and
Exeter HRCC-Ss helped more
than 260 employers and stu-
dents with their summer
employment needs and posted
over 340 student job vacancies.
The HRCC-S assisted local
employers to find qualified,
enthusiastic students ready to
work. The HRCC-S also hosted a
number of events to promote the
benefits of hiring a student during the summer
and visited local schools to provide students with
information on job search techniques, resume and
cover letter writing, interview skills and employ-
ment standards and wage rates.
I would like to thank all the local employers who
helped support student employment this summer,
including those who created opportunities for
younger students by using our "Odd Job Squad."
I would also like to thank all the students who
came in to use our services throughout the sum-
mer.
The Goderich student office will remain open for
an additional week, until Aug. 6. You can reach
Amy at 1-800-265-5185, ext. 232. After August 6,
you can post any additional job orders on the Job
Bank Web site by visiting jobbank.gc.ca.
Throughout the summer, students can continue
searching for jobs at that web site as well.
For last minute help, or if you have any further
questions, feel free to contact Katie at (519) 235-
1711 until July 30. The HRCC-S is located at 281
Main St. S., Exeter. The Exeter HRCC-S is looking
forward to working with the community again
next year to support student employment.
The Human Resource Centres of Canada for
Students are part of the Government of Canada's

by Ernie Miatello
Dry mouth can be a side effect of some
medications. It untreated, dry mouth can
increase the risk of tooth decay so it's important
to pay close attention to good oral hygiene. Drink
plenty of water, brush and floss more frequently and use a fluoride
toothpaste.
There is a saliva -testing lab now operating in Canada. It tests for
various male and female hormones and can be of help with
determining which hormone supplements are best for each person.
It's a oatient-pay lab and a standard five -hormone assay panel will
cost 5200.
From the 'for what it's worth department': Remember way back in
history, medical expertise felt that bleeding a patient was helpful in
curing disease? Leeches were used for this purpose. Researchers in
Russia are using leeches on painful muscles around the joints of
arthritic sufferers. Seems to help reduce the pain.
The scientists who proposed a possible link between autism and
MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccine have formally retracted
their findings saying there is no causal link between the vaccine and
autism.
