thy of the Granton com-
munity is extended to the
family of Florence Bryan
who died at Wildwood
Care Centre in St. Marys
on Fri., July 16.
The Granton Wesley
UCW Unit 3 group had an
outing to Bayfield on
Mon., July 12. Fifteen
women enjoyed lunch at
the Art See Cafe and
Gallery and later browsed
through the numerous
shops there.

United Church on Sun.,
July 18 Lay Pastor Val
Hodgins led the service.
Mary Waters gave the
Minute for Mission and
Elizabeth Herbert lit the
Christ Candle.
On Sun., July 25 there
will be a Breakfast in the
Park 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
and service at 10 a.m.
with Bob Heywood.
Vacation Bible School is
July 26 to 30.
The 49th annual
Middlesex County
Women's Institute Rally
was held at the
Coldstream Community
Centre on Tues., July 13
with 58 in attendance.
The North-West District
President Lois Baker
chaired the meeting when
the theme was 'When
people are smiling they
are most receptive to what
you want to tell them'.
The winner of the
Middlesex County WI
Scholarship was Diana
Hosford. Entertainment
was provided by the Old
Tyme Heritage Fiddlers, a
group of six who have
been together for 20 years
and give any remunera-
tions to charity.

Councillor Ruth Axford
gave an update report and
the London Area
Convention was
announced for Oct. 5 at
Holmesville and the
Tweedsmuir History
workshop is scheduled for
Aug. 10 at Mount Elgin. A
potluck lunch was enjoyed
at noon. Attending from

$ 5,000 worth of
damage to vehicles
HURON PARK — Huron OPP were
called to a residence on Columbia Drive
in Huron Park over extensive property
damage July 15.
According to police, someone entered
the property and committed vandalism to
several pieces of property overnight. The
tire valves of a two -door blue 1985 Olds
Cutlass Supreme were cut, a 1970 Ford
Model LGT 120 riding lawnmower, a
1973 Roper 10 horsepower riding lawn-
mower and a 1986 Landmark riding
lawnmower had the stem valves and
drive belts cut and wires and plug wire
harnesses pulled out. Also two bicycles, a
CCM Pursuit and Mountain Tour, had the
spokes cut along with the tire stems.
Huron OPP is continuing to investigate.
