ZURICH CORRESPONDENT
VARNA - The next women's auxiliary meeting will be
held at the Blue Water Rest Home on Aug. 3 in the audi-
torium with a musical program by the McBride family at
6:30 p.m. Everyone is most welcome to attend and stay
for the meeting afterwards. It's a nice way to come out
and visit the residents at the home.
Congratulations to Warren (Butch) and Helen Regier
of RR 3 Zurich who celebrated their 40th anniversary,
Aug. 17 with a family dinner and get-together with rela-
tives attending at St. Boniface Parish Hall, followed by
Mass in the evening.
There are several events taking place at
the Rest Home in Zurich. The monthly birth-
day party was held July 14 hosted by the Kippen United
Church women. Musical entertainers for the residents
last week were Corky and Friends, the Grand Bend
Senior's Band and the Exeter Community Band. Some of
the residents went to Cathy's Cottage July 20. On July 23
at 2:30 p.m., guest speaker Carla Long from Hensall and
12 -year-old Liuba Kondak from Belarus will visit the
home. Kondak is spending six weeks with the Long fam-
ily and has done so for three summers now. On July 27
all are welcome to come out and hear the Lakeview
Conservative Mennonite Choir at 6:30 p.m. and Audibly
Awesome Barbershop Quartet at 6:30 p.m. on July 28.
The Hensall Generals Hockey Club held their year-end
Party and Awards Banquet on the water in Grand Bend
with music supplied by Seasons Ticket. Greg (Grizzly)
Geoffrey had top honours as the team's most -valuable
player. Everyone enjoyed a great meal served by the
Grand Bend Cruising Club and a good time was had by
all.
Vacation Bible School will be at the Zion Lutheran
Church in Dashwood from July 26 to 30, 9 a.m. to noon
each day.
The next bus service to the bank in Hensall is on Fri.,
July 30 by around 9:15 at the Rest Home and 9:30 a.m.
at the corner across from the Hotel at Hay Mutual. It's a
free ride.
Happy 90th birthday wishes go out to Helen Haberer.
Also, Chase Pedlar was 5 years old on July 16 and had a
birthday (pool party) with his friends.
Happy anniversary to Darren and Aimee Rau on July
22, and to Jeff and Rosie Rothenberg on July 24.
Members of the Erb family (Chuck and Tanya) enjoyed
spending a week recently at Huntsville on vacation.
A family get-together was held at the cottage of Dick
and Barb Rau over the weekend with (her) Ducharme
sisters attending.
Brittany Todoroff from Tennessee is
presently visiting with her grandparents,
Mick and Kathlene for a month's holidays.
Jerome Sweeney enjoyed spending a couple of days
last week camping at Turkey Point.
Clem and Natali Bedard from Windsor spent a few
days in Zurich recently visiting his sister, Nora
Corriveau at the Rest Home Apartments, along with rel-
atives in the area.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery go out to Josie
Denomme who is home recuperating from the hospital.
A family reunion and get-together was held at the
farm home of Richard and Mary Erb on July 18 with a
pig roast.
Anyone wanting to donate their empty pop cans dur-
ing the summer months can do so by leaving them at
the home of Doug Debus in Zurich or John Jacobs in
Hensall, as all the profits from the cans will go to the St.
Boniface Building fund. The Knights of Columbus are in
charge of this project.

Twin brothers run
advertising company

Advertising Inc. in Toronto. (photo/Mary Simmons)

TIMES -ADVOCATE STAFF
TORONTO — Michael and Mark Tenaglia got tired of
taking orders from other people in the advertising busi-
ness, so they decided to start their own company.
The 27 -year-old twins were working in advertising
agencies in Toronto two -and -a -half years ago when they
broke out on their own and started their two-man opera-
tion, Beacon Advertising Inc.
Michael said they can offer better customer service to
their clients and Mark added they are building their rep-
utation on their honesty.
One of their clients is Gay Lea Foods Co-operative Ltd.,
which brought them to the twilight meeting of the Huron
County Holstein Club at Harglen Holstein Farms near
Mount Cannel to do promotional work for the company.
Michael said they got the Gay Lea account through per-
severance and hard work.
When applying for the contract, they did a full mock-up
for the company's new Guelph plant and subsequently
received the contract.
They also have contracts with Elite Furniture, Toronto
Hydro and TD bank.
Mark said they have gotten most of their clients through
word of mouth and have not done much to advertise their
own company.
"It's an amazing thing for two guys to do," Mark said.
Beacon AdvertisingInc. is a full service advertising
g
agency, offerin concept designs, photography,
produc-
tion and promotional material in any medium.
For more information, visit their Web site at www.bea-
conad. ca.
Volunteers are needed to come out to the Blue Water
Community Centre Fri., July 23 around 9 a.m. to help
get things ready for the fair entries and to help judges.
Call Margaret Deichert ahead at 236-4130 or just come
down to the arena that day.
Zurich Fair
Be sure and come out to the Zurich Fair this weekend.
The fair starts Fri., July 23 at 7:30 p.m., with entertain-
ment and a video presentation of photos of past fairs.
Past parades, fair queens and ambassadors, horse
shows, home and school crafts will all be represented.
After the show, you can order your own copy of the DVD
if you would like. Stay for a great dance featuring
Reload. Tickets are available at the door. There will be
an Elimination Draw and Dance that includes lunch. A
great part of the evening is always the Variety Show fea-
turing local talent of all ages - we're amazed with what
we see.
On Saturday, the parade gets underway at noon and
travels from the public school to the new Blue Water
Community Centre. All babies from newborn to one-
year -old are invited to take part in the Baby Show on
Sat., July 24 at 2 p.m. in the new auditorium. It's not a
competition just a fun event and everyone is a winner.
All entries must register by 1:30 p.m. by the stage and
do not have to live in Zurich.
There are also lots and lots of great items to be given
out as door prizes which have been donated by all the
generous businesses in the Village and area. come out
and tell your friends.
Sunday at 10 a.m. the Horse Show starts at the old
Arena grounds. At 1 p.m., the Fiddlers' Jamboree and
Dinner at Blue Water Community Centre gets under-
way. Then, from 6 to 8 p.m. is roller skating/blading for
everyone. Come out and have a good time.
