Valentine display at GB library
GRAND BEND - The Family and
Consumer Affairs Grand Bend
Women's Institute meeting had Rev.
Harry Disher as guest speaker.
Disher told those present of his work
in pastoral care.
The spiritual, physical and mental
conditions of the client are all con-
sidered in this work. Chaplains are
working in hospitals, prisons and
long term care institutions. Lay
people, volunteers and all people
can do pastoral work. Friends and
neighbours are important to each
other as they can help encourage
each other. Children and pets are
great to help cheer up people.
Information from many societies is
available to help in counselling.
Everyone sang happy birthday to
Loreen Gill. The W.I. will not deliv-
er meals on wheels this year. A
valentine display will be arranged at
the Grand Bend Library. Several
women are quilting the breast can-
cer quilt that will be donated and
auctioned off in the Fall. The
February meeting will be a tour of
Iceculture in Hensall.
