at the 'home o'f her daughter, Mr.
and Mrs. Wm. Thiel.
A goodly number of people are
anxious about their seeding and gar-
dening. But one cannot hurry the
weather man. So we must 'be pati-
ent, as it will come out all right in
the end.

Had Birthday Party
Mr. and Mrs. Wallace A. Haugh,
of Brucefield, gave a birthday party
recently in honour of the former's
father, Mr. Christ. Haugh, when 'a -
.bout sixty guests were present, in -
eluding guests from Dashwood, Lon-
don, Stratford, Preston and Guelph.
The evening . was spent in games and
music. Mr. Henry Krueger, of Dash-
wood, whose birthday icon the same
day, was present. These two men,
while boys lived in the same neigh-
bourhood on the 14th concession of
Hay. An address was read by Mr.
L. A. Birk of Guelph and presentat-
ion by Mr. Wm. H. 'Haugh of Dash-
wood. An excellent lunch was .serv-
ed with two birthday cakes filled
with candles." '

TO FARMERS
Goderich elevator funds are now
available.
The refund from the Goderich
Elevator and Transit 'Co., Ltd. of
overcharges made on grain loaded in
bags during • the period of August
16, 1943 to June 1945, is now held
in trust 'by the Federation of Agric-
ulture of Huron County for distrib-
ution.
All farmers and feeders in the
County who assumed this overcharge
may secure refunds 'by furnishing
proofs as to grain purchased on
which overcharges were paid.
A sheet of explanation as so proofs,
etc., is being.sent out to the town-
ship units and may 'be secured from
your local secretary.
By agreement with the Goderich
Elevator and W.P.T.B,, the unclaim-
ed residue may be used for Junior
Farmer Organizations in the County.
Anyone wishing to do so may assign
their claims for this ,purpose. All,
claims must be made within thirty
days of the above notice to W. V.
Roy, Londesboro, Secretary -Treasur-
er of the Huron 'County Federation
of. Agriculture.
Any Huron County farmers who
purchased grain from Bruce County
dealers, should present their claims
to Bruce County Federation of Agri-

OBITUARY
Late Mrs. Fred Leibold
Rev. P. Knauff, Pastor of Zion
Evang. Lutheran 'Church, Stratford,
officiated at the funeral services
which were held for Mrs. liiatherine
Leibold, widow oaf of the late Fred
Leibold, at the IHeimbuch Funeral
Home, on Monday afternoon, May
5th. Interment took place in Avon
Cemetery. Mrs. Leibold's parents,
the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Woolley
were residents of Zurich and Hen -
sail same years ago. Mrs. Leibold
was a devout memlb.er of Zion Church
and for many years she had taken an
active part in various church activ-
ities. Deceased had been in failing
health for some months. Surviving
are her daughter (Esther) Mrs. 'L.
Farrow, 66 ,MeNab 'St., Stratford,
with whom she resided, and a son,
Arnold Leibold, of Detroit. The
floral tributes were many and bea-
utiful. Those in attendance from
Hensall, were -Mr. 'and Mrs. R. Pet-
ske, Mrs: 'Garfield Broderick, and
Miss Gladys Luker.' Quite a number
of Zurich relatives and friends also
attended.

Westminster Hospital, London.
