Womens' Institute
The Zurich branch of the W. I..
met in the town hall, Monday with
43 in attendance. The President op-
ened the meeting with the Ode, foll-
owed by the Lord's Prayer in unison.
The business was then conducted
and a lovely program followed. The
climax' of the evening was a salad
demonstration given by :,urs. Moir
and Mrs. Strang of Hurondaie. The
memibers saw exquisite and dainty
salads grow before their eyes 'with
very little apparent effort, which lit
terally made the members gasp with
astonishment. The salads were samp-
led with obvious delight along with
the luncheon prepared by the In-
stitute. The committee in charge of
this wonderful meeting was: Mrs.
Rose, Mrs. Asmus, Mrs. Denomme.

return ALL empty bottles today ...
Why a Bottle Shortage?
Canadian glass factories normally produce MILLIONS of bottles every
month. The vital ingredient in bottle making is soda ash. Since July 12th
the only big Canadian soda ash factory has been strikebound. Since then
the stock of soda ash has been used up ... bottle factories are closed down .. .
bottles are not being made today. Beverage bottlers and all producers of
bottled liquids must have your bottles back to keep going. Bottling plants
will close down too ... if your empties are not returned.
