REACHES PEAK IN U. S.
New York — A record passenger
car tire production of 30,757,117 un-
its in the first six months of 1946'
was reported by the Rubber Manufac
turer's Association A. L. Vales, pre-
sident of the assoc;ation, said the th-
dustt y is geared to produce a record
of 39,200,000 of the Casings by the
end of the year.
Like a modern fairy tale is the
romance of Ellin Mackay and the
great scngvrited, Irvin Berlin. Read
in The American Weekly with this
Sunday's (Sept. 22) issuo of The
Detroit Sunday Times, how Berlin's
haunting melodies overcame many
obstacles, including an ocean inter-
posed by an irate father, to siring
them together. Get Sunday's De-

GO-AHEAD FARMER GETS GRIP
ON ELECTRCAL FUTURE
Electrical Improvements Financed on
Low -Cost .Instalment Plan.
The go-ahead farmer knows that the
demand for his products in peace will
be just as great as they were in war.
He knows, too, that if he is to play
his full part in meeting this increased
demand for foodstuffs, his farm must
be electrically prepared for it.
He knows his farm must be adequat-
ely wired to derive full benefit from
all the modern electrical power ap-
pliances. He knows also that he
should own these devices so that his
production is efficiently cared for.
He will concern himself, too, with
his family's welfare, by providing
thein with the benefits of electricity
in the home.
The necessary financing for all of
these highly desirable improvements
is readily available through a low-
cost instalment loan at the Bank of
Montreal.
The go-ahead farmer is quick to un-
derstand also that asking for a loan
at the Bank of Montreal is not ask
ing a favor. Mr. Sewell, the man-
ager, knows well the potentialities of
the future and is anxious and willing'
to help any go-ahead farmer to get a
grip on this future.
