MENNONITES SELL CHURCH
The Hebrew congregation of Owen
Sound, comprising about 65 families
has puirehased •the Mennonite Church
in that city known as Calvary church
Up until the present time the Jewish
residents have had no place of wor-
ship. The congregation of Calvary
Church has purchased a large build-
ing recently occupied aa headquart-
ers of the Polish Legion, They will
occupy it as a church until arrange-
ments can be made to build.

Goderich - Four youths, Henry
Tiedeman 21, Grand Bend; Roy Cor-
nish, 18, Stanley Jones, 18, and Jac.:
Elstone 17 all of London, charged
with an attempted safe -breaking at
the Grand Bend post office were re-
manded by Mrs. Mabel Gray, J.P.
Tierman also faces a charge of car
theft. They were brought here. from
London, where they were sentenced
to prison terms on two charges of
car theft. They will appear be:fore
Magistrate A. F. Cook this week. J.
Prokopsky and Wm. Ross Kribs, both
of Toronto, charged with breaking
and entering with intent the Brussels
Creamery, owned by Reeve R. Pa
Cou:Sins, were remanded until a week
later. They were arrested in Wing -
ham after he had a speedy ride over
14 miles of snow covered road and
have been in custody here.

The annual meeting of the Sub-
sciibers of the Hay Municipal Tele-
phone System will be held in the
Town Hall, Zurich, on Monday Feb-
ruary 4th at 1.30 p.m. There will be
a guest speaker, Mr. James Vance, of
Woodstock, Ont., past president of
the Western Counties Telephone As-
soGiation. The subscribers are very
much w•ged to attend this meeting.
HONOR ROLL DEDICATION
• An impressive Honor Roll Dedicat-
ion Service was held in the Emman-
uel Evangelical Church, Zurich, on
Sunday afternoon, Jan. .27th. Rev. E.
Heinrich read the scripture. The
Men's Choir, under the leadership of
Mrs. H. G. Hess sang two numbers.
A special. Dedication Service was led
by Rev. C.- B. Heckendorn; Mrs. 13.
Surerus unveiled the Honor Roll;
1VIr. J. E. Gascho react the names, and
the Guest Speaker led in the prayer
of Dedication. Hon. Mayor D. A.
Cowan, of Wolseley Barracks, Lon-
don, Ont., gave a stirring message on
the theme, "Standing At Attention
Before God". Many comments have
been voiced about this splendid ser-
mon. There was evidence of a wealth
of experience from his many contacts
with the amen of the Services. In a
personal conversation he stated that
in the course of his duties at the
Barracks he has had 15,000 inter-
views with the. men. This has en-
abled him to speak out of a rich ex-
perience. • The following names have

• OBITUARY
Late Louis Henry Wurm
Louis Henry Wurm passed away
in Victoria ' Hospital, London, on
Wednesday, January 23rd, 1946 in
his 88rc1 year. He was born in Hay
Township where he farmed until
nine years ago when he moved to
Zurich to retire. His wife, Eliza-
beth Rupp predeceased him. Surv-
iving are four sons: Leonard, of
Clear Water, B. C.; Arnold of Seb-
erwaing, Mich; Alvin of Exeter and
Herbert of Sedgewiek, Alb. Two
daughters, Mrs. Gossman (Luella) of
Port 'Huron, Misch; Mrs. Henry Sch-
ilbe, (Emma) Dashwood, Ont. The
funeral. service was held from the
Westlake Funeral Home, Zurich, on
South Huron Agricultural Society
held their annual meeting• on Satur-
day afternoon, January 19th, in the
New Commercial Hotel, Hensall.
There was •a good attendance, and
the Society reported• iii splendid fin-
ancial condition. It was.decided to.
hold the Seecl Show March 8th in
the' Town Hall; Hensall; and date
of Stock Show. provisionally set for
Tuna 3rcl. The following officers
were elected: Hon. Presidents, W.H.
Golding M.P; Dr. Hobbs Taylor, M.
L.A.; James Ballantyne, Stan Tudor,
