Farm Forum
Most of the members of the Baby-
lon Line Forum were present for the
regular Monday evening meeting
which was held at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Leonard Erb. Everyone
listened attentively to the broadcast
which originated in Hotel London,
where the Federation of Agriculture
Convention is being held tats week.
Do we need an International Farin
Organization?" was the topic for
discussion. Our Forum decided that
although it would be difficult to form
a world organization at the present
time, such a body would give agrie-
ultureal producers of the world a un -

the home of Mrs. E. G. Krueger last
Monday evening with 20 members
present. Mr: Bruce Klopp speaking
on the subject "International Organ-
ization" •stressed the need of an In-
ternational Farm Organization.World
Ogranization is one of the necessary
factors we must put to practice in
order to have World peace.. Mr. and
Mrs. H. Truenmer• will be the hosts
to the review meeting of the Forum
next week with Mr. M. Durand as
convenor. Everybody welcome.
S.S. No. 7, Hay Forum
The Farrel Forum of S.S. No. 7,
Hay, held their regular meeting on
Monday evening at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Jacob Deichert Jr.,
the
topic under discussion was "Do We
'Need an International Farm Organ-
ization?" and the Forum gave ex-
pression as. follows. Our marketing
prospects would be much improved,
so that distribution of available food
would be much better than in the
past. It would create a greater de-
mand for farm produce and by co-
operative marketing, delivery would
be more direct, quality better, giving
greater satisfaction to all concerned.
Our standard of living more secure,
although realising that over a period
of years we may have to be satisfied
with a somewhat lower standard, but
it would help to keep this standard
up to a maximum. The interest a-
mong farmers for each other, and
helping to create world peace, as
feeding the population of the world
through the principle of co-operation
is a big factor in peace and harmony
the world over.

LIONS CLUB NEWS
The first anniversary of the organ-
ized Zurich Lions Clug, was held at
the usual dining hall of the Domin-
ion Hatel, which was also the setting
of the organization a year ago. It
was also fitting to have as guests for
the occasion, members of the Exeter
Club which sponsored the Zurich
Club, and members of the London
Club, sponsors of the Exeter Club,
It was indeed a very happy coincid-
ence that the Grandfathers, Fathers
and Children Clubs enjoyed this meet-
ing together. Lion President Patrick
introduced the speakers of the ev-
ening, namely Lion A. Traquair of
Exeter, who was president of that
Club when it organized the Zurich
Club, and Lion Carlton Wells, presi-
dent of the London Club.
Lion. Albert Traquair in his address
stated that he was pleased with the
way the Zurich Club functioned t he
first year, and also stated that they,
"the Exeter Club" were proud to be
the sponsors of the Zurich Club. He
also presented a travelogue cohpris-
ing of his personal trip south which
included Florida, Louisiana, Mexico,
New Mexico, etc.
Lion C. Wells spoke on "Speaking
In Public", stating that practicall y
anyone who takes time to do some
researching along this line can and
will face an audience to give an or-
ation more or less. His talk wa
inspirational to all present.
A male quartette comprising of
Exeter Lions, gave two numbers
which were very well rendered, and
were enjoyed by all. Lion Sturgis
acted as pianist for the meeting as
well.
Lion Chester presented the Club
with an enlarged photo "framed" of
the Lions at their first picnic at
Turnbull's Grove last July.
The Club, as a whole, after look-
ing back to its origin which was a
year ago, feel they have .accomplished
a great deal in this community. A-
mong other projects instigated by
the Club were the filling in for the
open air skating rink which was er-
ected later on along with two shant-
ies. Also a program of assisting the
Institute for the- Blind was and is
in progress, and one of the latest
developments is the taking over from
the Exeter Club the. looking after
a daughter of Robt Baker who was a
polio victim a few years ago. And
as we enter upon as new year Prov-
idence only knows in advance what
this Service Club will be doing in
the next twelve months.
