FARM HELP EXCEEDS DEMAND
A surplus of farm. labor exists in

BIG TOURIST TRADE
Ottawa - M. W. MacKenzie, dee-
uty trade minister said there was no
limit to the volume of tourist busin-
ess Canada could handle and this
trade could become the Dominion's
greatest single source of much need
ed foreign exchange.
MEATLESS DAY RESTRICTION
Meatless day restrictions will be
set aside for ,Christmas and New
Year's clays which fall this year on
the regular meatless Tuesdays. W.
Harold al.cPhillips, prices and supply
representative of the Prices 13d. said
in making the announcement that the
amount of meat consumed other than
fowl on these two days was relatively
so small that the annoyance caused
by the regulation being maintained
would be greater than the small sav-
ing would warrant.
• SOME TIRE RELIEF
Ottawa - Rationing of all used
and retreaded tires and virtually all
truck tires except those in passen-

iously eligible only for used or re-
treaded tires now will be eligible for
new tires for the next three months,
depending on tire supply, they may
be limited to two new tires. Included
it class "11" are bond and insurance
salesmen, who commercial tra-
velers, 'chain store supervisors,finan-
ce company collectors, tax colectors
and assessors. Certain sizes of farm
implement tires also have been re-
