Four Moose On First Day
When Harvey Baxter and Allan
'Infield left their service station in
Goderich on the 12th of Oct., accom-
panied by James Bacon of Hamilitten,.
hey intended to spend two weeks
hunting moose in the Kapuskasing
district. At. Kapuskasing they `.were
joined by Art Valley and a guide
from that town and continued on a
50 -mile trip into the north. Their
luck was so unusual that _on the first
day each of the four had shot a moose
probably establishing a record for
hunting. Since their return the meat
rations have had no disappointments
for numbers of their friends. No
deer or bears were seen in the neigh-
bourhood where the moose were bag-
ged.—Goderich Signal -Star.
The rather fine weather;is being
enjoyed here, and farmers are losing
no time in getting their work roun-
ded up. While our Western .friends
are shivering in sub -zero weather, we
here in this part of Ontario are en-
joying the best of weather for this
-time of year with practically no frost.
Some In nterea of this locality have
returned hone, and some without
either fowl or deer, which they wou-
ld have enjoyed bringing. But they
have fond memories of the rine soc-
iability among their groups; and be-
side: they enjoyed the outdoor life
which usually is a tonic to most of
us.
