St, Joseph and Beaver Town
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Denomme and
children of London were Holiday vis
iitors with their relatives.
Miss Lucille Jeffrey left the past
week for a visit to Detroit, Winds
and other points.
Mr. and Mrs. Len iSararas and
daughter Marjorie were Sunday ev-
ening visitors with friends in Stan-
ley.
Mr. Clayton Smith and sons are
erecting an ice house quite large so
that they will be able to supply their
summer campers with an ample sup-
ply.
On Sunday •evening last about 7.30
a whirlwind from the south-west or
better known in the French Langu-
age as a torouiquet roughen its way
through Mr. Re•,inmie Jeffrey's home
demolishing the south west window
Me the wash room, and working its
stay through the front part of the
house and the most curious part of
it swerved to the south east room,
and in its mad rush took the top part
of the window and carrying it away
perhaps, also taking the window cur-
tain and neatly perched it on the tel-
ephone pole along with a necktie that
was hung up on a dresser. The tor-
niquet continuing its course in a
north easterly direction, pulled a
willow tree from the front of Mrs.
Leon Jeffrey's front, and in its mad
tush continued to the Brisson -barn,
picking a large barn door which was
firmly attached to the building, car-
ried it away- a distance of nearly a
hundred rods and planting it firmly
in the ground as though done by
magic.. Those that .witnessed the lit-
tle"`incident said --it was all over in
a split second.
Mr. and Mrs. Morris Denomme are
preparing to move in their new home
near Dashwood where he is employ-
ed in. M. Klump's planing mill. We
much regret their departure tes ear.
and Mrs. Denomme were good neigh-
bours and such a great asset to the
community. Our best wishes goes to
them.

the Misses Jean and Cecelia Hartman
of the Goshen line south were last
