Hay Council met on Saturday,
June 2nd, 1945 at 1.30 p.m. in the
Township Hall, Zurich, as a Court
of Revision to consider appeals a-
gainst the 1945 Assessment Roll of
the Township of Hay.
Motion, that since no appeals were
received on the 1945 Assessment
Roll, Cburt of Revision be closed
subject to appeal to the Countay
Judge.

nurses graduation exerdises at the
Stratford General (Hospital when two
of our local girls, Misses Irene Turk-
heim and Alpha Meyers wril receive
their degrees of R. • N., on Wednes-
day afternoon. Their many friends
wish them continued success.
Mrs. H. Rose, President of the loc-
al Womens' Institute advises all me-
mibers of that society to meet at their
service station on Thursday June 7
at 1.30 in the afternoon to attend
the joint picnic with the t._rand Bend
Institute at Turnibull's Grove, where
a jolly time is in store for all.
Fiftieth Anniversary
•
Solemnizing their 50th wedding an-
niversary, Mr. and Mrs. Maxime
Denomme of Blake, received their
blessing from the Rev. Father Lucier
at St. Boniface Church, Zurich, on
May 218th, where Requem high mass
was celebrated in their honour.
The• bride of fifty years wore a
lovely gown of golden tan with ac-
cessories to match and corsage of
Lilly of the Valley and Carnations.
The bride's maid of 50 years ago,
Mrs. • P. Denomme, sister of the bride
stood with her son Raymond. After
the ceremony the couple returned to
their farm home, where a sumpuous
fowl dinner was served, in the com-
pany of their many children, forty-
two grand children and four great
grand children, sisters and brothers
of the bride and groom.. The table
was decoratedin white ana gold and
the wedding cake of three layers ad-
orned with. a. gold crest representing
50 years of married life. Bouquets of
flowers' showered the bride with a
special boquet donated by the Rev.
Fathed Lucier. Addresses: by
bride's brother, Louis Durand and
their son Tufl'ield Dcnom- of' De-
troit, Mieh. The couple were "hon-
oured by many lovely gifts.
