CRASH KILLS SOVIET DIPLOMAT AND WIFE
Constantine Alexandrovitch Oumansky, Soviet ambassador to Mex-
ico, and his wife were killed in the crash of a Mexican army trans-
port at the Mexico City airport, The 42 -year-old envoy, one of
Russia's ace diplomats, was en route to Costa Rica to present his
credentials. He and Mme. Oumansky are pictured above, with their
daughter Nina, in Washington, where, from 1939 to 1941 he served
as ambassador to the U. S.
