With their backs! to the wall the
Dashwood Tigers team fought their
way to the !bitter end subdueing the
Zurich Lumber Kings last Friday eve
at Dashwood, winning 3-1. it was
anybody's game till the last man
was out and an interesting playoff
Zurich taking the first three games
and then Dashwood winning the next
four.

Returning Officer J. K. Hunter at
Goderich on Tuesday evening, Aug.
18th at 7 o'clock. The final totals
were Cardiff 11,0,45 and McLean
10,092, giving iMr. Cardiff a majority
of 953. The large service vote re-
duced Mr. Cardiff's majority by 224
votes. The Dublin poll in Hibbert
Twp. recorded the best turnout with
92:54 per. cent of the voters at the
poll. Baefield Poll No. 8 Stanley,
showed the poorest turnout, only 200
of 'a possible 851 voters cast their
ballots,

Last Wednesday evening was the
night of the 9th annual Frolic of the
Zurich Lions Club and the third an-
nual Huron County Ladies' Beauty
show, and was ,attended by a large
crowd of enthusiastic spectators. The
entertainers from Windsor hal a nice
array of numbers and kept the big
crowd well in order, as their pro-
gram. was interspersed with intermis-
sion to allow people to attend the
other concessions such as games of
Chance, Bingo, etc. The beauty con-
test was won by 18 -year-old Barbara
