spent the week -end in their cottage
on the Blue Water south.
Mr and Mrs Theodore Laporte and
family 'of Windsor have moved in
:their summer cottage at Laporte's
Grove for the summer months, where
they will enjoy a much earned rest.
The little storm and rain of Tu-
esday morning has again detained
the farm work but so long as we can'
escape 'destructive winch, or tornadoes
toren we have much to be thankf ul ;
for, even alio crops and farm work
will suffer front ,care.

On Tuesday evening, June 9th,
tlhe anernlbers sof the Dorcas and
Bethany Sisters classes of the S.
School along with other friends and
neighbours islet in the basement of
the Evangelical United Brethren
Ohurch to welcome and honour Mrs.
Patrick J. Cunningham (nee Mae
Smith) !u+ho had just returned from
her wedding' trip to Washington D.C,
and other places -of interest.
The room was beautifully decor-
ated with spiraea, Iris, and Y'oenn s
and ,carried out the Coronation col-
our scheme cif purple and gold.
'After the crowd hadgathered
Mrs. Ward Fritz went for the bride
and escorted her through the church
and down tlhe steps leading to the
basement. As she entered the roomy
she :was presented with a beautiful
bouquet of flowers by Mrs. Menno
Oesclh ;who led her over to an elev-
ated aiuned-.chair on a raised plat-
form. Mrs. W. J. 'Meaner then read
the presentation after which Mrs.
Lawrence Bedard, a former classmate
placed a crown 'of .flowers on the
head' of the bride, snaking her the
Queen of the evening.
Four little ,girls, Elizabeth John-
ston, Gail iSiebent, Katherine Thiel,
and !Phyllis Sehade dressed in pastil
shades and wearing crowns designed
by (Mrs. 13i11 Siebert, ,acted as • the
Queen's loyal subjects and carrying
in some gifts on a white train laid
thein at the feet of the Queen.
The :bride was assisted in open.Yng
her gifts by :Miss Pauline Hess, Mrs
Earl Thiel and ':Mss. Lawrence Be-
dard.
The bride looking very neat in a
lovely shade of green, was greatly
impressed and thanked the people
present for their kindness. A lovely
lunch was served by those in charge.

WILL BE FIELD IN THE
Agt'i:cultural Grounds at Seaforth, on
FRIDAY, JULY 10th.
GUEST SPEAKER WILL BE:
Mr. J. A. Carroll, the Assistant Deputy Minister
of Agriculture.
There will be Harness Horse Races, Track and Field Events,
Softball Games.. A display of Machinery and Equipment -as
well as other displays of interest to Urban and Rural ,people
will be on the grounds.
There will he a Dance in the Seaforth Memorial Aren.in
the evening to the music of the CKNX Barn Dance Gang.
Previous to the dance there will be an Old Time Fiddlers
