Dogs and Flowers
To the Editor—
Sir. This sprinig, as every spring,
many householders will try to brigh-
ten their grounds, and do a_ little
gardening. But as usual they will
have tocontend with the gardenr's
greatest nuisance --the loose dog.
Dogs, individually for in packs, tram-
ple and uproot flowers and lawns.
This is far from amusing. •Surely a
little patch of the commonest flowers
is more satisfying to the senses than
a pa:ck of dings, who often as not,
are danergerous and noisy. I would
suggest that a dog catcher be put
on constant patrol and pick up all
dogs that are not on their owner's
property or on a leash. Dogs that
are not licensed should be destroyed
or given to clinical laboratories for
research to 'alleviate human suffering

Those dogs with licenses that are
running loose should be innpounded
for a week, and if they should be
treated as the non -licensed dog. This
suggestion, I':n sure, will meet the
approval of the true dog fanciers
who would not think of letting their
dogs loose to create a madame. In
most places the dogs have been Out
up now for a whole month. They
usually pass a bylaw to have them
shut up by the first of April. I hear
that two of our Town Trustees have
their dogs running day and night.
Think of it, who would like dogs
roanping in your strawberry patch.
—Citizen.
