Present to witness the ceretndi ies were a number of par- enta and members iof the Grop Com- mittee. The investiture is a simple leeron:y in which the boy becomes *a Scout or Cub officially becomes a aneatsber ofthe Group by formally Tepgating his proanise to his leader. The iCubs made their promise with the :heft hand on their PPack flag, while the Scouts used their Troop Deg' " crossed over a Union Jack. iTlercereanony was conducted by the Chief, James W. Reid, assisted by Scouter Albert Deichert, who was first himself invested, Chairman of the .Group !Committee Edwin Gascho, .Seei?etary Earl Yungblut, and Com- nittee member Milton Oesch. Res. 89 T227—Zurich St: Joseph & Blue Water Area On Friday, March 20th, 1953 the community was shocked beyond ex- pression ,of weeds, from the death of the late Napoleon •Cantin of St. Joseph, in his 62nd year. The de- ceased was the second son of the founder of St. Joseph, N. M. Cantin and was born in Buffalo, N.Y. On March 1, 1916, 37 years ago he was married to Valerie Laporte, also of this parish, by the Rev. Father Roidot, then parish priest. From this union twelve children were born, seven sons and five daughters, two having predeceased him some years ago, a daughter, Doris and a son, Charles; the remaining ones are Napoleon, Eugene and Oliver of De- troit; Piere in the American Arany Army et Port Knox, Ken., as a tame mechanic, and Jean Paul and Andre at hone; the daughters are. lira.
