al Missionary In Africa tor the past
four years now at 1a,ente 'ou furlo in
!Mildmay, Ont.,- will be in Zurich on
Thursday Mai*ch 27. Re will give an
illustrated addressin the Evangelical
Church about his•','w'orAA• in Africa at
8 p.m. Mr. Macke is a University
;graduate, trained and qualified to be -
Come a. professional architect like his
father in Mildmay, Ont. But when
the Hoard of Foreign 'Missions el the
Evang. church a few years ago need-
ed an architect and ,builder to auner-
vise the building of several new Mis-
sion churches and hospitals in Africa
this young man volunteered to go to
Africa as a Missionary venture to
tackle these !building projects. He
will have an interesting story to tell.

Andrew's United Church, Westmin-
ister, and was born in Hay Township.
Surviving are his widow, the former
Harriet A. Berry; one daughter, Mrs
Hazel Ri-;binson, London; one on,
Russell •Stelck, Toronto • one brother
Edward Stelck, Dashwood, and two
sisters, Mrs. E. Hey, Zurich, and Mies
Margaret •Ste]•ck, Long Beach, Cali-
forna. Rites were at the George E.
Logan and Sons funeral home, Friday,.
at 2 p.m. with burial in Mount Pleas-
ant Cemetery. The Rev. Ralph Bar-
ker, St. Andrew's Church officiated.

Samuel McBride, 73, life-long resi-
dent of Stanley Township, and one
of the beat known farmers of this
district, died on Sunday, March 23,
in St. Joseph's Respite', London. His
brother, Robert McBride of Kippen
died last December; _and his wife, the
former Josephine Willett, in 1040.
He was a member of the Blake Unit-
ed Church and had been spending the
winter months at the home or his•
brother, Mr .and Mrs. John 'MVfeBrid.e,
here in Zurich, and was ni the hos-
pital
ospital .only a short time. Surviving are
one sq.11.,..,Lloyd,. Detroit; one o*augh-
ter, Mrs. Reta Taylor, Exeter; two
brothers, John of Zurich and James
of Stanley Twp: and three sisters,
Mrs. C. Stephenson, .Hensall; Mrs.
Alvin Nicholson and Mrs. Maude
Schnell, both of Regina, crass. The
remains rested at the Bonthron fun-
eral home Hensall and services were
conducted from the Goshen United
Church at 2 pan., Tuesday, by the
Rev. T. J. Pitt, and interment wa
in Bayfield Cemetery.
