a surprise on January 'nd while out
in their yard notived fully developed
mytrle blooms on the myrtle .folliage
bed. She picked several and brought
them to the house, to prove the flow-
ers which grow in Huron County in
January, as well as in Florida.
MANY AT YOUTH RALLY
The Eureka Jubilee Singers, radio -
famous colored sextet, known :eronr
coact -to -coast in Canada and U. S.
thrilled a capacity audience at the
regular monthly meeting Saturday
eve. last at the Clinton High School
Auditorium, in the district area
"Youth for Christ" rally. The sing-
ing of negro spirituals and the per-
senal testimony from members. _of
the sextet will long be remembered
by rally goers. The dynamic speaker
of the evening was Evon Hedley,
leader of Eastern Canada Youth for
Christ and Sect sof Youth for Christ
International. Along with weeds of
welcome, Director Frank toltar pro-
mised a top-notch timely yrogram for
the (March rally. At the close, Mr.
Clifford Talbot of near Bayfield also
spoke very encouragingly.
BAYFIELD BRIGADE GETS
GRANT
A grant of $200 was given to the
Bayfield Fire Department at the
February meeting of the Stanley Tp.
Council in Varna. John R. Cameron
Bayfield, was hired as assessor for the
police village and Bayfield, and Roy
Ked=es, 'Var`ne, was hired as • road
superintendent of the Twp. There
was considerable •discuseien regarding
the continuing of the warbre fly
campaign in .the Twp. and council
decided not to take any action
matter until March, Clerk Fred Wat-
son svas•.instructed to call for tender,
for a power sprayer. Reeve Elmer
Webster presided and c•-uncillors
were Alvin McBride, Harvey Taylor
Harvey Coleman and Carl Houston.
CHURCH TO CELEBRATE
The Dashwood Evangelical United
Brethren Congregation is planning
to celebrate its 100th Anniversary.
It is looking forward to .having Bis•
hop Showers of this district as guest
speaker next October. They first
worshipped in a home on the Goshen
Line, then built a brick church re
the ,ams Concession in Hay Twp.
Later a Methodist church was moved
from some ,distance east to Dash -
weed •and used till 1895 when the
present building was erected at rr
cost of $5,000 plus the hand and
team labor donated to bring the cut
Atone from St. Marys, the slate for
the roof, the brick from Crediton,
and rough stone and lime from tire
surrounding country.

ich W. I. was held in the town hall,
Zurich on Mrnday evening 11th, Mrs.
Chester Smith, Vice President, open-
