ZURI H MAN INJURED
With cars lined up on either side
of Main, street Exeter, John Durand,
of Zurich,backed his car out from
the curb in front of Hawkins' Hard-
ware, Thursday morning last and was
struck by; .a transport hauling cem-
ent blocks 'through town. Mr. Dur-
and suffered from shock and was re-
moved to the office of Dr. Fletcher
where it was found he suffered only
slight injuries. The car was badly
damaged. Chief Norry investigated

ority to „preserve the land in the
river watershed which extends from
Staffa in the north, to Arkona in the
south. Dr.'G. E. Pleva, U.W.O. pro-
fessor and :one of the foremost ad-
vocates of ;conservation will address
the -meeting along with A. H. Rich-
ardson, chief conservation engineer
for the Province of Ontario.
MANY AT BANQUET
Abtour three hundred members and
friends sat clown. to the annual ban-
quet of the Huron Feder•::ttron of Ag-
riculture in the Community Centre
auditorium,. Zurich. dant Thursday
evening. The affair was catered to
,by the Isd of.,tlhe'Zurich Evangel-
ical church anti everyone was well
and 'bounteously fed, in fact it was
reported over the radio that this was
the finest banquet the organization
has enjoyed. The junior farmers'
clubs were the entertainers, and the
guest speaker was Mr. Joe McCon-
nell of Kitchener,who has everything
heat for talk and humor heard in
many a day. The evening was inter-
esting from start to finish. A dance
was enjoyed to top it off with the
Desjardine Orchestra doing the mus-
ical end of it.
ZURICH CHAMBER OF COM-
MERCE RECEIVE CHARTER
Reginald Illsley was elected presi-
dent of the newly formed Zurich and
District Chamber of Commerce on
\'an.day- evening when that organiz-
ation held its first annual meeting
and was attended by some forty me-
mbers. Other ofricera were: Albert

McEach'en, treasurer; and W. A.
