OBI T Ua.i-�x Peter Kraft, 95 Passes A highly respected Tuan rn the person of Peter Kraft, 95, believed to be the oldest man in the district, died Thursday, August 9th at the home of his daughter, Mrs. (Fred*Rad- er of Dashwood. He hacl been ill for two weeks. Mr. Kraft was born 1n Stephen Twp. and farmed there un- til he moved to Dashwood 42 years ago. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church. His wife, the for- mer Catherine Stade, died two years ago. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Fred Rader, Dashwoott; Mrs. Victor Heywood, Exeter; Mrs. Dora Stadelbauer, of London; one son, Edmund, Dashwood; five sisters, Mrs. John Schafer, Parkhill; Mrs. Marg- aret Hamacher, :llrs. Amanda Shoe- maker, Mrs. John Deitrich, and Mrs Susan !Merrier, all of Dashwood. The body rested at. the T. Harry Hoffman funeral home, Ilashwood, where service was held on Saturday, at 2 p.m., followed by a public serv- ice at the Zion Lutheran Church, Dashwood, at, 2.30. Rev. L. F. Hig- enel officiated. JOSEPH ROBBERY Thieves' gained entry by a side win- dow to the garage and general store of Mr. Hector Forcier, of St. Joseph, who has his place of business on the corner of Highways No. 21 and 84., four miles west of Zurich on Thurs- day morning,. Aug. 9th,' and stole tires, batteries, groceries, cigarettes and novelties to..the value of $500, the robbery happened between '2.30 and 8 a.m. Mr. Forcier discovered it when he came to business in the morning. She died in the Lon- don Hospital ton August 10th in her year. Her husband predeceas- ed a few years ago. She had made her home with her son Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Keller at Preston, tilt last February she became a patient in the London Hospital. Surviving are two a ons, Theodore, of Detroit; and Arthur of Preston; one daughter, Mrs. Wm. Rothaermel, (Ella) of St. Catharines; and two sisters, Mrs, Anna. Kingsley, of Connecticut; anti Mrs. Henry Thiel of Zurich. A pri- vate funeral service was held at 2.80 n.m. on Monday at the Westlake Fun- eral Home, Zurich, followed by a ,u,i,lic service in St. Peter's Luther- an church. Interment followed in the church cemetery, with the Pas- tor, Rev. E. W. Heimric'h, officiating. For many- years Mr. and Mrs.Kefer: acted as caretakers of St. Peters Church, CHESTER L.
