Mr. Andrew Thiel of Toronto was
a visitor in town this week. He at-
tended the Thiel reunion at Etrat-
fe d on Monday, where there was a
targe attendan::e. Among members
of the clan attending from Zurich,
was Mr. Andrew Thiel Sr., 91, who
was the oldest person on the grounds
Mr and Mrs Lloyd Cook and dau-
ghter Patricia of Kitchener; -Mr and
Mrs Lorne Cook of Waterloo; Mr.
and Mrs Walter Berry and Mrs. E.
Racey of London; Mrs. E. Schniker
of Milverton, were visitors at the
home of Mrs. John Brenner over the
week -end.
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Walper and
daughter Catherine of El Centro,
Calif,, .are visiting relatives for a
few days here. They came bey plane
Mrs. Walper having been visiting her
parents in North Carolina. They
will go to Detroit where they will be
getting a new auto and return by
wary of the (Pacific coast.
Mr and AIrs Frank L. Siebert and
family of Detroit, spent a few days
in Zurich at the home of the form-
er's mother, Mrs. Anna Siebert.
Frank reports that when he was in
Toronto he found Miss Muriel and
\1r. Russell !Teeter in very poor
health. We all hope that they will
take a turn for the better very soon.
Mr and Mrs. -C. F. Bowden and
sons Mark and Jeffrey arrived in
Zurich at the home of their mother
Mrs. Anna Tuerkheim on Monday at
2 a.ni. after a 1260 mile motor trip

will spend part of their holidays in
Zurich before going to Toronto and
l;rantford.
Mr and Mrs. Moses Gerber of town
Mr and Mrs. Nelson .Riley and chil-
dren of near Kippen • attended the
funeral of the former's nephew, Mr.
tieee;; Gerber, :31 years of age, son
of Mr and Mrs John Gerber of Ber-
nu„a, Ind., who was killed in an auto
aceident. The funeral was held lit,
aaL,urday, and was largely attended.

Huron Warden Injured .
Arthur Nncholson, warden of Hur-
on. County, is sucering from a badly
crushed left foot. The accident oc-
curred when he was assisting to move
timbers at a bridge near the O'Brien
farm at the west end of Tuckersmiih
Township.

good neighbor work of Mary Hast-
ings Clubs - was given et the sixth
annual picnic .of the Grand Bend
Many `Hastings Picnic Club held on
Wed, August 1st, at Turnbull's
(.rove, when nearly 800 attended
the outing on the cool shores of Lake
Huron - the first the group hits ever
had without rain. The group has
members in Grand Bend, Ailsa Craig
Parkhill, Zurich, Thedford, Crediton,
and Dashwood. Two buses wore re-
quired to bring London visitors and
other visitors .attended from as far
away as Windsor, Chatham and Gode
erioh, and three from Springfield,
Ohio, and Winnipeg.
Games were held for children and
