On Tuesday evening relatives and

line north, in honor of their son Roy
and his 'bride, to present them with
a miscellaneous shower. Mrs. 'Newell
Geiger read the address. Little 'Pearl
Ann Erb and Master John A. Geiger
carried a basket full of gifts to the
bridal couple, and assisted to refill
the basket. Mr and Mrs Ea'b grate=
!fully replied with many thanks for
the kindness shown to them. v Social
•ghats were enjoyed and a delicious
luncheon was served. With a sprendid
'evening drawing to 'a close, time to
return home„. came only too quickly
after spending a few hours at the lov-

The E. W. Rader Family. The address:
Dear Doreen and Royi:
It is with pleasure that we your
relatives and friend's have assembled
here thi's evening to offer our con-
gratulations • and extend to you our
best wishes upon entering a new chap
ter in your lives. We are glad that
you have remained in our neighbour-
hood Roy, and brought your life corn
'panion with you. We know that your
sterling character and numerous cap-
abilities will be an asset to bhe com-
ntunity. Our sentiments are summ-
ed up in the following poem:
What shall our toast
And wish .be for you,
But a lilting song and a 'courage true,
With health to purse the daily task
In the light of love to live and bask,
To take out of life the best of cheer
To stand the test when trials are near
To work and play, to love and lift
And not with the tide to idly; drift
With your God to guide the long
years through.

The Voice of Temperance
. There is a lot of .loose talk about
the inadequacy of the Canada Tem-
perance Act, in spite of the fact that
life goes on very quietly in Canada
Temperance Act territory. Not near -1
lye $iaough thought is being given to
the alternative to the Canada Tem-,
perance Act. The 'Ontario Liquor
Control Act is the alternative. It ,op-
ens up outlets—liquor stores, 'bever-
age rooms, cocktail lounges. With
outlets there, is more liquor and more
drinking and more law -breaking and.
more (bootlegging. if .some of the
disgruntled, loose -talking people of
Huron would live Dor a while in any
town under the Liquor Control Act
and see how much worse conditions
are there than in Huron then they
wouldrsurely stop suggesting•that we
jump from the frying pan into the
fire.—Advt.

June 30th.—Madonno lilies, prnk ally p un.
roses, ferns.. and flickering taper, at 1. i;ered, the pumps were
the altar of Devine, St. United Church I soon brought into action. At our
at Sarnia, .formed the sacred setting printing plant, we were able to go
for the wedding ceremony when Nola
(leen, daughter of Mrs. Krueger of
Zurich, and the late E. G. Kreuger,
became the bride of Hugh Browne
Simmons, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. N.
Simmons of Frankfort.
The pastor of the church, tate Rev
A. B. Irwin officiated. Mr. Haydn
Weston of Sarnia played the bridal
music and accompanied the soloist,
Miss Ruth Brownlee sof Sarnia, as she
sang "The Lord's Prayer' and Be-
cause."
The bride entered the church on
the arm of her brother-in-law, Mr. E.
C. Holden of Prospect Hill and was
given in marriage at the altar by her
mother. The bride was lovely in an
ankle -length gown of white Venise
Bridal Rose Lace over satin fashion-
ed on princess lines, with exaggerat-
ed fullness in the .-skirt. The lacy
scalloped cap -sleeves were accented
by a deep V -neckline, tufted stand-
up collar and lacy -cuffed nylon net
gloves. A bonnet brim of illusion
net with satin braid trim held the
bridal veil which fell gracefully over
the shoulders. She carried a nose-
gay' of red noses and stephanotis.
Mrs. Ralph Krueger, the bridal at-
tendant, was 'gowned in :Maiden's
blush Nylon marquisette over taffeta.
Tiny organdy flowers, each centred
with a brilliant, ornamented the bod-
ice of her dress and 'Pink daisies with
yellow centres adorned her lace -trim-
med picture fiat. She carried a mat-
ching nosegay of pink daisies.
Mr. Ralph Krueger, of Hyde
Park, brother of the bride was
groomsman. Mr. Mel Stewart of
Sarnia and Mr. Tim Burgess of Lam-
beth were ushers.
The post -nuptial receptian was
held in the church parlours. The
ladies of the church choir, of which
the bride was formerly a member,
catered to the wedding supper'. For
the occasion the bride's 'nether was
dressed in a copen 'blue nylon mesh
ensemble with black and pint: ac-
cessories. She wore a corsage of
pink rose. The groom's aunt, Mrs.
M. Dillalbough of Sarnia, assisted
Mrs. Krueger .at the reception in the
absence ;;f the groom's another due
to illness. She wore a sky-blue tail-
ored suit and a corsage of pink roses.
For travelling the 'bride chose a
dainty nylon frock with white maces-
sories and wore a corsage of varieg-
ated carnatitons 'and a matching fea-
thery spray on her hat.

Now on 60 Cycle
By the time this issue reaches the
readers in Zurich we will be practic-
ally all Converted over to 60 cycle,
Early Tuesday morning the village
was invaded with the red trucks and
were seen stopping at houses and
places iof business, everything works
on schedule. On Tuesday 67 dom-
estics were cut over and on Wed-
nesday 18, on commercial 120 and 33
respectively. The local water system
was probably the .biggest undertak-
ing, but .no one was without water,
as regardless to the difficulties usu-
at four o'clock in the afternoon,
and with a bit of night work, are not
too badly off this Wednesday noon.
While we cannot say we are so much
better served, as Hydro always does
give that service, but we feel we now
have the universal 60 -cycle Hydro
in Zurich, and people are asked to
use it as before.
