Rain! Rain! Rairt!.—
And more of it. People are ask-
ing when It will be dry again. Well,
try a guess at it; since May if you
can count tbe dry days we had on
your ffngers and toes, and that aneens
nearly four months. It hae. ell ne
predictions heffied. Even these in
autherite. Well, there is nottingwe
about it, Tet it rain till the
e Ammer season . ends. Of course af-
ter that we can expect the autumn
season to greet us with disagreeable
fall weather, followed by high winds
and cold, snow flurries and what net
When shall we expect the nice: sum-
mer weather to enter the picture a-
gain; well, if you have patience to
wait for another year, theweather
may adiust itself, and we may again
enjoy the good old summer tine.
Already there is much anxiety a-
mong the farmers, they are wonder
ing what may happen to their .pree-
ent :crop. Many fanners have :lost
their hay crop due to rain, and -un-
less dry weather makes it's appear-
ance in the near future, fanners
tan expect anything. But in the
mean time do not give up hope. With
a few sunny days and with ail of
!the modern implements, much .can
!be accomplished in a short time.
I Bean craps will be the next head-
ache for the farmer, but that is
some was off yet. However, it is
n ot well to cultivate worry before
;at is handed to you. Therefore for
;the present, set your anxieties aside
and cheer up, and let happen what
may; you have fared through in the
pasteeand you will also in the fut-
ure.

TALK
SINCE 1946 the average price of Canadian steel
rolling mill products has gone up a bit more than
70 per cent.
But the price of scrap, a vital raw material for the
steelmaker, went up 1 81 per cent in the same
period; and the price of labour in the primary iron
and steel industry by 130 per cent.
Nearly all other prices, including the price of
labour, have risen higher and faster than have
steel prices in the post-war period.
