ZURICH RESIDENT
PASSES SUDDENLY
The village and community was
shocked on Tuesday afternoon„ to
learn of the sudden departure of one
of its ibeloved res%ddents in the per-
son of Mrs. William O'Brien, 81, the
farmer Emily "Alice" .Smith who was
ill only about four hours with a
heart attack, and with all that med-
ical science could do, she passed
peacefully away. Mrs. O'Brien was
;beloved by all who knew her and
shewill be greatly missed by her
family and neighbours. She had lived
all 'her life in Hay Township and
the Village of Zurich, and came to
Zurkh over 50 years ago. During
this jsumnier she .enjoyed some out-
standing events, first on June 3rd.
she and her husband celebrated their
60th wedding anniversary. Then the
last two• weeks in June the departed
so much enjoyed the Crusade Serv-
ices in the Arena, this was followed
by the 'Centennial, another highlight.

town thought the affair would be a
flop, but when they saw the arena
jammed full of eager spectators, a -

bigger :crowd than they get even in
Toronto. They all left Zurich with
jingling pockets of real cash and
offered to •coarse back any time that
