ship service. The Jr. (dhoir will take

SCOUT NEWS
About three hundred :Scouts and
Cubs journeyed to Point Farmnorth
of Goderi'ch on Sunday for the annual
District "(Scout's Own" which is a
sort of Scouting Thanksgiving serv-
ice. The service was held in the open
air in spite of a steady sprinkle of
rain and was conducted by the Reg-
ional Commissioner for Western Ont-
ario. After the service, two; Scouts
from the Third.,'Goderich Troop re-
ceived the highest service award in
scouting, namely the Queen's Scout
badge: ,Forty Patrol Leaders who had
attended the leaders' course...at Cen-
tralia this spring were awarded their
bronze arrows. Among them were
Don Gascho, Eugene O'Brien, Louis
Wille t, and Kenneth We:ido of this
town. We feel this is a notable ach-
ievement in a Troop as young as
ours. The weather cleared as the
meeting ended so the boys were able
to enjoy a good dip in, Lake Huron
to whet their appetites for the pic-
nic lunch which they had brought a-
long. Leaders report that scouting
in the district is healthier now than
it has ever been before.
