Scouting is an outdoor ac- tivity and the countryside is full of evidence of God's .goodness -from the bursting of a fresh flower bud to the beautiful rainbows—but we all must realize that nothing takes the place of Divine worship shared with others in holy places. He expressed the belief that the warm Christian welcome ac- corded them by all the churches could spring only from the realizat- ion that these organizations were Saturday and Monday May 29-3.t really serving a purpose in Christian citizenship.. ' ',Later in the service Rev. Roppell announced that he and his church men had decided that the evening off- ering would be given to the organiz- ations represented at the service. When fast contacted, the leaders had made no decision as to how the funds would be used, but we do know that they will be put to a good purpose. We are informed by Scouter Jim Reid that the various churches in Canada have set up eer- tain requirements in accordance with their beliefs which will enable a l3oy Scout or Girl Guide to be awarded a "Religion and Life" award on the recommendation of his own pastor. The award is made by the Scouter or Guider concerned but cannot,be made without the signature of the appropri- ate clergyman. We do hope that we shall see some of our boys sporting this much -coveted award before too much longer.
