Flyers Lose Out To Classy Mohawks
As Exeter Swamps Zurich 12-0
Playing their second game in
two nights, the Zurich Flyers
were swamped 12-0 by the classy
Exeter Mohawks in Exeter last
Thursday night. Exeter is an in-
termediate A club, with about
eight imports, while Zurich is only
an intermediate C homebrew club.
The MohaWkil will be playing
Zurich again tonight (Wednesday)
in the Hensall arena. The locals,
Who hope to be at full strength
for this game, are confident they
can give the star-studded Exeter
crew a real run for their money.

Philipsburg Raps Out 7-3 Defeat
For Zurich Flyers in Hensall Rink
Allowing the Philipsburg Ghees
to score four unanswered goals in
the first period, the Zurich Flyers
went down to a 7-3 defeat last
Wednesday night in Hensall. Both
teams scored twice in the second
and added another in the third.
Two goals. by Steffler and one
each by Sararas and Weber gave
the Chevs an early lead in the
first period, as they scored every
four minutes.
Zurich came to life in the sec-
ond, on a goal by Don O'Brien at
the .33 mark. However, Philips-
burg cache back with two more
before the Flyers could again
dent the twine. Doug O'Brien
scored with less than a minute left
in the period.
Playing coach Mahlon Shantz
shoved the visitors into a 7-2 lead
at the .28 second mark of the
third stanza, and then "Leo Raci-
cot brought the locals back into
contention at 5.55 on a pass from
Clive Lomax, which ended the
scoring in the game.
Dennis Amacher, goal -tender
for the Zurich Juveniles, filled in
for DeFrancesco, who isout of ac-
tion with an arm injury. Even
though seven goals were scored
against him, he turned in a good
effort for the Flyers.

The regular meeting of Dash-
wood Women's Institute was held
on Tuesday, December 1. This
was the Christmas meeting with
.the losing side in the membership
contest entertaining the winning
side.
Mrs. Leonard Schenk presided
for the business. Thirty-two mem-
bers answered the roll call, "Wh-
at I would like for Christmas".
Eight dollars was received from
Seaforth fair board for exhibiting
the cereal shelf display.
Donations were made as fqi-,.:,
lows: five dollars to the Childreris
War Memorial Hospital, London;
ten dollars to the Dashwood Mens
Club to assist with the Childrens
•Christmas treats.
Mrs. Arnold Kuntz, district dir-
ector, reported on the executive
meeting held at Hensall. It was
stressed all institutes fill in the
TV surveys. Mrs. John Rader re-
ported that the Tweedsmuir His-
tory was making progress and
urged all to bring material suit-
able for it.
Mrs. Sid Baker, captain of the
Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Rader at-
tended the T. A. family banquet
•at Armstrong's restaurant, Ex-
eter, on Saturday evening as gu-
ests of the Times -Advocate.
Mr. and Mrs. Russell Brintnell
and James, Granton, spent the
weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Leon-
ard Restemayer and family.

The Walther League of Zion
:Lutheran Church held parents
night on Sunday, December 6,
when devotions and group games
and contests were enjoyed. Mrs.
Lorne Genttner and Lloyd Rader
were presented gifts for having
the most points.
Robert Becker was in charge of
the closing devotions, held in the
church auditorium.
Anne Koehler, Ruth Restemayer
and Ruth Anne Rader were in
charge of the program and ser-
ved lunch. V. L. Becker thanked
the Leaguers on behalf of the
parents.
