spent the weekend with Mrs. Let-
ta Taylor.
Ladies Aid
The Ladies Aid of Zion Luther-
an Church held their quarterly
Missionary League meeting. Pas-
tor K. Zorn took for his topic a
filmstrip, "The world tour of our
missions." The Salmon sisters
favoured with a musical number.
The rally will be held in the
Dashwood Church on Wednesday,
May 6_ A mother and daughter
banquet will be held on Monday,
May 11.

A membership drive will be held
during May and June. Closing de-
votions, with the theme, "Ye are
the light of the world," were held.
Group four, with Mrs. Leonard
Schenk as convener, was in charge
and also served lunch,
Surprise Birthday Dinner
Mrs. Miifred Merner was guest
of honour at a surprise birthday
steak dinner at the Dawn Restaur-
ant, Grand Bend, on Saturday ev-
ening, arranged by her husband.
Other guests included: Mr. and
Mrs. Karl Bosk, Detroit; Mr. and
Mrs. Elliott Bartliff, Clinton; Mr.
and Mrs. Arnold Merner, Zurich,
and Mr. and Mrs. Addison Tieman,
Dashwood.

Mrs, Elizabeth
Regier
Mrs. Elizabeth. Regier, Mount
Carmel, passed away in St, Mary's
Hospital, London, last Thursday in
her 93rd year. She was the wid-
ow of John Regier, and had spent
most of her life in Mount Carmel,
She is survived by four, sons,
Albert and Joseph, both of Step-
hen Township; Charles, McGilliv-
ray Township; and Peter, Kitchen-
er; two daughters, Mrs. Josephine
Deitrich, London; and Mrs. Theop-
hile Denomme, Detroit; and one
sister, Mrs. Josephine Oxendine,
San Francisco.
The body rested at the Hoffman
funeral home, Dashwood, until
Monday morning, when requiem
high mass was solemnized at the
Church of Our Lady, Mount Carm-
el, at 10 a.m.
Pallbearers were: Donald Den-
omme, Charles Dietrich, Leo and
Lee Regier, Jack Ford and William
nesday, April 8, in his 56th year.
Besides his wife, the former
Rose Rader, he is survived by four
brothers and four sisters; Daniel,
John and Betty, all of Robinsdale,
Minnesota; Paul, Milwaukee, Wis-
consin; Ernest and Erma, both of
Alexandria, Virginia; Mrs, Adolph
Fischer, Pulaski, Wisconsin; and
Martha, Rochester, New York.
Mr. Laub was a member of Zion
Lutheran Church, Dashwood. He
was president of the Stratford
Zone • of the Lutheran. Laymen's
League and a member of the Ed-
ucation Committee of Zion Luth-
eran Church.
The body rested at the Hoffman
funeral home until Saturday noon,
then at Zion Lutheran Church,
where services were held at 2 p.m.
Rev. K. L. Zorn officiated, with
interment in the Lutheran Bron-
son Line Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Norman Wal -
per, Ervin Rader, Chester Maw-
hinney, Lloyd Willert, Albert Ra-
der and Carl Wein.

Saturday were the groom's par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Weiberg,
and Earl, Mr. and Mrs. Lorne De-
vine, Henry Weiberg, Mr. and Mrs.
Adolph Keller and Grace, Mr. and
Mrs. Garnet Willert, Mr. and Mrs.
Aaron Restemayer, and Leland
Miss Donna Weber, Mr. and Mrs.
Lloyd Rader, Glen and Darlene,
and Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Miller.
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Rader and
family spent Sunday at Waterloo
with Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Taylor and
family.

Mrs. Regier and her husband
farmed in Stephen, on the Goshen
Line, prior to retiring to Mt. Car -
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 15, 1959
mel. Mr. Regier died 17 years
ago. Forty-six granchildren, 136
great grandchildren, and five great
great grandchildren also surivive.
