Hear 'The Link in the Chain" Topic
The Evangelical Youth Fellow- by the story of Hans, who saved
the city by putting his hand in
the hole of the dyke. "Everyone
must accept responsibility. We
must have good government. All
are links in a chain that will make
Canada great. Every chain is as
strong as its weakest link."
"The earliest settlers in Amer-
ica were Christians who came for
religious freedom. Samuel in the
Old Testament learned to obey
God. God used him to choose a
great King for Israel. King Josiah
made reforms in the temple. An
old scroll containing the laws of
God were found. He made them
the law of the land. Only a right-
eous nation can stand before God.

the topic on "The Link in the
Chain." The topic was introduced

A wedding of special interest
to Hensall and surrounding area
was solemnized at the United
Church, Hensall, in a pink and
white setting, on Saturday after-
noon, April 11, when Florence El-,
izabeth Mickle, Toronto, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Laird
Mickle, Hensall, became the bride
of Walter Ross MacMillan, Tor-
onto, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Malcolm MacMillan, London,
Rev. Charles D. Daniel perform-
ed the ceremony assisted by the
Rev. R. A. Brook, Acton.
Traditional wedding music was
provided by the organist, Ivor
Drake, London, and Albert Cul-
trom, London, sang.
Given in marriage by her fath-
er, the bride wore a floor length
peau de soie gown, styled with
fitted Empire waistline, a Sabrina
neckline and long pointed sleeves.
The back emphasized a trapeze
chapel train floating down from a
round neckline of peau de soie
roses and petals. A bandeau of
peau de soie rose petals held her
finger tip illusion veil and she
carried a colonial cascade of pink
sweetheart roses, feathered carn-
ations and stephanotis.
Mrs. Walter Murray, Toronto,
was matron of honor and brides-
maids were Mrs. Charles McGreg-
or, Toronto, Miss Sharon Mac-
Millan and Miss Sandra MacMil-
lan, sisters of the groom, London.
They were gowned identically in
cocktail length dresses of tur-
quoise faille taffeta, fashioned on
princess lines with rounded neck-
lines and push-up sleeves. The
back featured trapeze panels ex-
tending from a deep V to a harem
neckline, They wore matching
cocktail bows and carried colon-
ial cascades of pink roses, feath-
ered and palm chrysanthemums.
Miss Ann Mickle, sister of the
bride as junior bridesmaid was
similarly gowned, in the lighter
shade of turquoise and carried id-
entical flowers. Groomsman was
Leonard Quick, Jr., London, with
Charles Elliott, David Smith,
Charles McGregor, Toronto, and
William Mickle, Hensall, brother
of the bride, as ushers.

Mr. and Mrs. Bert Dunn, Jr.,
and Douglas, were Sunday visitors
with Mrs. Dunn's brother-in-law
and sister, Mr. and Mrs, Dennis
Layton, and family, in Mitchell.
Miss Elaine Grainger, London
Teacher's College, is spending the
next two weeks at the home of her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Russell
Grainger, and will be practice
teaching under the supervision of
Mrs. Phyllis Deichert.
- Miss Kathleen Talbot, Strat-
ford Teacher's College, spent the
weekend with her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Clifford Talbot.
Mrs. Wilfred Turner, Linda and
Johnnie, Niagara Falls, are spen-
ding some time with Mr. and Mrs.
John Turner.
Mrs. John Campbell and baby
returned to their home on the
Bronson Line from the Goderich
Hospital, on Monday.

ily.
Mr. and Mrs. William Steckle
were Sunday guests with Mr. and
Mrs. Kenneth Gingerich and fam-
ily.
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Gingerich
were Sunday visitors with Mr. and
Mrs. Curtis Gingerich and family.
Little Elaine Gingerich, daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Ging-
erich, has returned home from the
hospital and is doing very well.
Mr. and Mrs. Cleve Gingerich
and family called on Mr. and Mrs.
Kenneth Gingerich and family on
Sunday evening.
Sunday evening guests with Mr.
and Mrs. Russell Heard of Bayfield
were Harold Finlay and family,
and Mr. and Mrs. Amos Gingerich.
Receiving over a hundred guests
at Armstrong's, Exeter, the bride's
mother chose a mid -blue Chantilly
lace and silk organza gown with
small hat to match, white acces-
sories and a corsage of pink roses
completed her costume. Mrs. Mac-
Millan, assisting, wore a silk or-
ganza and lace gown in honey
biege, small petalled hat and ac-
cessories to match. Her corsage
was of orange Delight roses.
For a wedding trip to Florida
the bride chose a navy blue wool
suit, blue flowered -petalled hat
with navy and white accessories.
She wore a mink jacket and gar-
denia corsage.
The bride is a graduate of the
University of Western Ontario
and Victoria Hospital School of
Nursing. On their return the
couple will take up residence in
Toronto.
Hensall Minister
Retires In June

Rev. Charles D. Daniel, minister
of .Hensall and Chiselhurst United.
Churches for the past four years,
announced his retirement from the
active ministry, to take place in
June of this Conference year,
Rev. Daniel is chairman of Hur-
on Presbytery; convener of the
Pension Fund for the Presbytery;
Padre of Hensall Legion; is on the
recreation council and past master
of Huron Lodge 224 AF and AM.
He came to Hensall from Inger-
soll, and will retire in Ingersoll,
where their home is.
Rev. Daniel has served in North-
ern Missions, Campbellford, Sun-
derland, Peterboro, Palmerston,
and Ingersoll, and has been in the
Ministry for 44 years. His first
charge was assistant student min-
ister at the Dominion Church, Ot-
tawa.

der the supervision of the Cana-
dian Red Cross.
