Funds Campaign Under Way For
New Building For Crippled Children
The Appeal for donations to the
"'Ontario Crippled Children's Cen-
tre Building Fund" started Mon-
day, January 12.
John Bannister, Manager of the
Bank- of Montreal, Zurich, has
been appointed chairman of the
local area consisting of the vill-
ages of Dashwood, Hensel and Zu-
rich and districts. The quota for
this area has been set at $500 to
be raised within the next three
weeks. In a message to every per-
son in these communities, Mr.
'Bannister said, "Remember that
the voluntary worker who knocks
at your door represents a crippled
child who needs your help; there
is no greater need. More than one-
third of Ontario's crippled child-
ren cannot take advantage of ex-
isting treatment facilities," he
pointed out. "Some of these child-
ren live in our own area. Many re-
quire long and constant resident-
ial care, which present facilities
cannot provide. Over crowded hos-
pitals cannot keep them for long
terra treatment. The new Ontario
Centre has been designed to solve
this and many other problems,
and to offer the help manly handi-
capped youngsters must have for

Young People's
January Meeting
The EUF of Emmanuel EUB
Church held its meeting on Tues-
day. January 13, with Miss Cath-
erine Rader in the chair. After
the singing of "Jesus, Keep me
Near the Cross", Murray McAd-
ams led in prayer. Durward Mc-
Adams read a poem, `Beginning
Again". Miss Helen Grainger read
the Scripture. The hymn, "Christ,
the Solid Rock," was sung.
Miss Catherine Rader present-
ed the topic, "What's my moral
standard?" What is right or wr-
ong for me? This is a question for
'teen-agers. How can I know right
from wrong? God has given us
our guide in Jesus Christ. Jesus

which are . as true now as they

person whom we meet is either
a. child of God, or a potential
child of God. Jesus never scorned
anyone. He called Matthew the
despised tax collector to be His
disciple. He regarded him as a per-
son, and He called him to a high-
er life.
"Why should I sacrifice my prin-
ciples?" is the question of the
young person, if he is friendly to
some one who is regarded as an
outcast. To our Lord, the outcast
was one who needed love. Multi-
tudes, despised by people, were ac-
cepted by Christ. To love the un-
lovely should be our goal.
We must take care of our bod-
ies. God became a man in the per-
son of Jesus of Nazareth. "The
word became flesh, and dwelt a-
mong us." "Ye are God's temple."
Paul told his converts. Jesus is
our moral standard.
After the singing of the hymn,
"Wonderful Word of Lite", the
president, Miss Elizabeth Finlay,
took charge. Miss Norma Geiger
read the minutes of the last meet-
ing and read a "Thank -you" note
from Mr. and Mrs. Allan Smith.
Arrangements were made for the
Young People to take charge of
the Sunday School and to teach
the classes on Sunday, January
25, which is the beginning of
Youth Week.

little man you've had a busy day
This little spaceman is just back from a trip to Mars (out in
the backyard) ... and now his leader is packing him off to bed.
While he was away, she washed the floor ... the dishes .. .
several large piles of clothes ... and still there was plenty of
hot water for this spaceman's bath. Reason? Because she
has a modern automatic electric water heater with abundant
storage capacity and quick recovery when more hot water is
needed. Heating water electrically is safe, clean, modern and
costs just a few cents a day on special. Hydro flat rates.
You get more out of life when you get the most out of
electricity.
