Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hutchin-
son and Alva, Preston, spent the
weekend with relatives here.
Mr, and Mrs. Martin Laub, Ex-
eter, were Sunday visitors with
Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Miller.
Mr. and Mrs. William Sylvester
and daughter, Camp Shilo, Mani-
toba, are vacationing with Mr. and
Mrs. Arnold Becker and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Eckstein
spent the weekend at Rochester,
Pontiac and Jackson, Mich., visit-
ing relatives. At Jackson they
found his brother Ben and wife
in very poor health.
Mr. and Mrs. Milton Webb, Judy
and Bob have moved to their farm
recently purchased from Glen
Cameron. Mr. and Mrs, Elgin Kip-
fer and son have moved into the
home purchased from Milton Webb
in town by Mr. E. R. Guenther.
GNO Club
The GNO Club held a Hallowe'-
en party last Thursday evening
with Mrs. Lloyd Guenther as host-
ess. All came in costume and
Mrs. Ernest Koehler received a
prize for identifying everyone.
Hallowe'en Party
The Walther League of Zion
Lutheran Church held a costume
party Tuesday evening with penal-
ties for those who did not dress.
Prizes were awarded to the follow-
ing: most original, Martene Kel-
ler; funniest, Wayne Wassman;
prettiest, June Rader. Games and
pranks were enjoyed. Following
lunch closing devotions were con-
ducted by Rev. K. L. Zorn.
Fowl Supper
The annual fowl supper of the
Zion Lutheran Ladies, at which
they entertained their husbands,
was held last Wednesday evening.
Group 3, with Mrs. Elmer Rader
as convener was in charge.
Following dinner Bunco was
played. Winners were: ladies, Dr.
Mirdza Gulens and Mrs. Harold
Schroeder; men, Fred Weiberg and
Garnet Willert
4-H Club
The first meeting of the Dash-
wood Merry Maids was held Sat-
urday afternoon at the home of
the leader, Mrs. Sydney Baker,
with eight girls and the assistant
leader, Mrs. Arnold Kuntz pres-
ent.
Election of officers was held
with the following results: presi-
dent, Carol Becker; vice-president,
Shirley Bender; press reporter,
and secretary, Ruth Anne Rader.
Mrs. Baker discussed covers for
books, name of club and 'place and
time of meetings. It was decided
to hold a meeting at the home of
each member. She also discussed
working methods.
Mrs. Kuntz discussed the food
pattern for health and the cereal
shelf. Measuring was demonstrated
and each girl took part.

cereals in pattern for every day
eating. Begin record book. Fill
in your record of cereals eaten.
Fill in score sheet for each day's.
meals for one week. Roll call,
one day from my record book of
cereals eaten. Refreshments were
served by Mrs. Baker.

Mr. and Mrs. John Scotchmer
accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Rob-
ert Hampton, Goderich, spent the
weekend in Port Huron.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Ducharme,
and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Ducharme
spent the weekend with their par-
ents, Mr, and Mrs. Peter Duch-
arme.
Mrs. Jennie Downie, Strathroy,
is spending some time with Mr.
and Mrs. Russell Grainger.
Fair Meeting
Bayfield Agricultural Society
held their regular monthly meet-
ing in the town hall, Bayfield, on
Monday night; October 29, with a
good attendance.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Penhale,
Mr. and Mrs. Forest McClure and
Mrs. Edward Gregg were appoint-
ed to attend the meeting of Dist-

Brussels on October 31.
Hallowe'en Party
On Friday afternoon the tea-
cher and pupils of SS No. 4 West
Stanley entertained the parents
and pre-school age children of the
two sections at a Hallowe'en par-
ty. The children came decked out
in various costumes and were jud-
ged by Mrs. Robert Greer and Mrs.
Robert Talbot.
A program consisting of group
songs, stories, riddles, jokes, piano
and vocal solos and games was en-
joyed by alt
A delicious lunch was served'
by the pupils bringing a very plea-
sant afternoon to a close.
