Some of you readers heave not-

W'al't .Disney .to blame for thde.
Ms recent touching story of .the
devotion of "Ofld, Yeller" to his
little master has set many think-

as their neighbours that their
dog stay home and 'become an

They just do not know how to
go 'abouttraining their ped. Un-
fartulnateliy magazines seem to
give information abbot the cure
for eery disease a dog might get
but little information on how to
cure disobedience. Those w'ish-

X Am His Hwnan.
May neighbours say I ewai a pulp
Which tears their precious garden
up.
It is not so. I don't agree.
I own no dog. The dog owns ave.
I au his hinnan. He dernandS
Obedient service at my hands,
His walk, his brushing and his
folod —
I live in constant servitude.
He owns me. I must clear his
hairs
From cushions, chesterfield and
chairs,
And soon, by my indulgence led,
Hell claim ,the eoanfort of my
bed.
My master! I must nvever faliii
To heed :his bark, his wagging
atoll'.
Yet happy I that this should be:
I own no dog. A dog owns rale.

Women's Imtvtute members
from the surrounding area and
church women interested nrn the
Children's Aid work attended a
muting held tin the, Dashwood
Evangelical Church on Tuesday,
May 20.
The Rev. ;R. J. MacMi0lyen, God-
erich, as president of the Huron
Shelter work, gave an outline of
tih,e work carried on by this or-
ganization in Huron County.
"The revenue to carry on this
worthwhile work", he explained,
came from four source s
part from the provincial, the
'county, and the municipal grants
and part from the board ,paid
by parents, unable to keep their
Children an their own homes but
nort wishing to put them out for
adoption."
The work falls under four head-
ing; protection for children, care
a unmarried mothers, adoption
of Children .and i.nvcstigatiaon into
court cases caused by divorce, etc.
He advised :'parents wishing to
adopt children to do so, only thr-
ough earefulllliy supervised organ-
izations such as ,the Cihtildiren's
Aid':. The Children's Aid is proud
of its reputation of never having
had .an adoption questioned in
count. He believes this is duce to
the fact that unanarni'eid mothers
are given plenty of time to make
up their own minds as 'to the
fate of their child.
Once the child is given for adop-
tion, it is ?taken to the Wtngrham
Hospital for a periods of months.
Here it is carefully studied to
make surae it has am Physical or
mental defects. The social work-
ers make a very careful study
of the child and its background.
as well asthat of the prospect-
ive parents. This enables them
to choose a child who will. most
nearly fit into .its new environ-
ments.
Any children's clothing that is
in excellent repair wiilrl be welcom-
ed at the Goderniah office in .the
new Count House.
June Brides
Beautiful, flawless weddings
don't just happen. They are the
result of oarefuil planning months
before the event.
Once the date and the time is
set by thee couple, the prospective
bride /must make arrangements
for the church, (or wherever the
ceremony is to take lacee) clergy-
man, organist, and soloist at she
desires one, and be ante to, sug-
gest the songs which she would
like sung. She should also ar-
range for a rehearsal.,
Invitations and announcements
should be ordered several months
do ad'vanee as it takes a few
weeks to have them engraved,
