day's summer vacation on Sunday
evening, and your publisher is back
at it again this week with an almort
doble dose of work and matter to set
up, and to those of our subscribers
who are looking for a writeup about
out trip this week, we must ask these
to wait a bit till we get caught up
a little. and we will try in our hum-
ble way and say a few things. We
spent four days in Chicago and four
days resting up in the beautiful
Allegan County Park on Lake Mich-
igan, which is located about directly
west of.Port Huron, and a distance
of exactly three hundred miles from
Zurich. Space end time will not per-
mit saying more this week.
OBITUARY
Mr. Edward Appel Passes
The death took place of Mr, Ed-
ward Appel at his home in New Ham-
burg on Thursday August 2nd, at the
age of 73 years. He had been in poor
health for about a month, .nit only
took seriously ill, a few days mint'
his demise and the news of his death
came as a distinst shock. The deceas-
ed was a son of the Iate Mr. and
Mrs, Peter Appel and Was born in
Wilmot Tp. He ]earned the tailoring
business in New Hamburg and later
mired to ',atrial where Ile carried
on a succ (, oful I ---e for r 1111'-
years. About, 1' yoars
from busino.,s and ' er7rcl back to
New Hamburg, since then he resided
there. He was married to Di<1. Zeller
of Zurich, who with trree sons are
left to mourn his passing. Tho sons
are Victor, bank .manager of 1'ahn-
ereton, Roy, Jeweller 01 Windsor,
and Harold, of Cleveland Ohio. Ile
also leaves four brothers and three
sister, Herniae, (leo., end Chas. Ap-
ple of New Hamburg John o! Waik-
erten, Mrs. H.. Feick of Kitchener,
Mrs. Bowman of New Hamburg and
Mrs, Sararas of Wilmot Centre. The
funeral was held privately on Mon-
day from his late home with inter-
ment in Riverside Cemetery. Rev. 1l.
