The Pork and Baan Supper: spon-
sored by the `Lades' Aid of .the Ev-
angelical church recently held was
well attended. The program . opened
with selections Try the 5. 5• orchestra
and a sing song, r oilowing this a two
act play "Patsy" was presented. by
the King's Daughters Class under
the directi.crn -.of _their teacher, Mrs.
i;.• H, Taylor. Those taking part in-
eluded Miss 'Gertrude Hoffman (title
roll) Miss Anna Tiernan, Ruth Tie-
rnan, Florence -Baker, Verna Birk,
Edith Weber and Mrs. Gordon Ben-
der. Between acts Harry Hoffman
sang in his nsnal pleasing manner,
accompanied by Mrs. J. M. Tiernan.
The proceeds of the evening amoun-

Mrs. George Fairbairn
Mrs. Geo. Fairbairn passed away
last Tuesday afternoon, in London
Hospital, following a very severe
illness of a few week's duration.She
was taken to the hospital for Med-
ical attention, Her 'death is doubly
sad, as her husband, predeceased her
six months ago. She was in her 51st
yetis, was well liked by a host of
friends. She leaves to'•xnourn her
loss six daughters :Mrs: Joe Hudson
of Hensall; Mrs. Lrintnell of Exeter
Mrs. Lennis O'lirein of Clinton; Ag-
nes, Mabel and Shirley at hone and
Lentis and four sons, Elliott of Til-
lsonbure; Wm., Hensall; Fzed,`.Win-
dsor and Clarence at home; one eas-
ter, and three' brothers. The funeral
Was' held from the home of her dau-
ghter, Mrs. Joe Hudson was private,
and was conducted by Rev. Arthur
Sinclair.

Mrs. C. Oesch has returned to her
home in Blake, after a few weeks
visit with her sister, Mrs. H. Pfaff Sr
at Crediton.
Receives Call
Rev. S. 3. Mathers, for four years
pastor of Grend Bend United church
has accepted a call to Bathurst street
United Church, Toronto. Mr. Math-
ers 'has been prominent in the field
of religious education.
Seaforth Resident Passes
There pessed away in Seaforth
recently a highly respected. resident
in the person of Mary Cameron, wide
ow of the late Samuel McPherson in
her 87th year. Three daughters and.
three . sons also two sisters and five
'brothers survive.
• Crediton Man Injured.
When the red hot axle of a buggy
slipped from the grasp of Oscar Win-
dsor, a customer at the blacksmith
shop of Jack Hadgson, Crediton, the

latter was pinned to his anvil by the
heated °pin. A hole one-half inch. isx
diameter ' was burned clean through
his hand.

accepted. the :invitation extended by
the official board of North Street
United church, Goderich, to become
the pastor of the local coagregation
at the beginning of the next Confer-
ence year, on July lst next. Mr.
Lane has just completed 'twenty-five
years in the ministry and in that
period has had only three c:naeges.

Peter Dec ourGey
The 'death' occurred 'at his honte in
Egznondville of Peter .DeCourcei, a
highly esteemed resident at 'the ad -
winced age "'of :97 years. He was
born $u Ireland; a sin of the late
Pat, DeCourcey and Baine to Canada
and settled in Hibbert Tp.,. where he
;pent the moat part of his life. He
was married 62 years ago to Ellen
Connolly, who predeceased hien by a
number of years. In 1925 he was
united in. marriage to Isabella Keeg-
an, and retired to Egmondville. He
was a devout member of St. James'
Catholic Church, Seaforth, ` and also
is survived by his widow.
Morse -Drops Dead
While Jas. Sheddon of Morris was
driving his horse home from Brus-
sels the other clay, it slipped and fell
Bead on the road. He was driving a
light race cart at the time of the
unfortunate mishap. The cause of •
thedeath was due to heart attack.
An 'Unfortunate Accident
..A..A. Morrison, vice-pres., of . the
Clinton Knitting Co., who cane up
from London, last Monday on one of -
his periodical visits to the plant, had -
the misfortune to slip on some ice,.
which was covered by soft snow, as
he neared the factory, and in falling
fractured his left arm above the
elbow: He also sustained injuries to
the head. He was taken to the local
hospital, where he received > medical
attention and put to bed for a few
days. He was badly shaken up in
addition to his other injuries.
