Mr. James Allan of the Goshen

dwelling property and land to Messrs
Melvin and Harrison Schoch of the
14th concession, Hay, who will get
possession next April. Mr. and Mrs.
Allan are planning to move into the
village to reside.
William 3. Jorrott Passes
As we go to press we learn of the
passing of Mr. William J. Jarrett of
Hillsgreen which occurred on Wed-
nesday morning. The funeral will he
held at 2 o'clock on Friday afternoon

aay. Rev. Chandler will officiate.
Mr. Jarrett who was in his 73rd year

• FORMER' PASTOR PASSES
Waterleo—Rev. W. J. Yager, pas-
tor .of the Canada Conference of the
Evangelical Church for 49 years,
died at his home in Waterloo on Dec.
23rd. He was 75 years of age. Rev.
Mr. Yager served' congregations at
Pemibroke, Sebringville, Dashwood,
Hespler, Waterloo, Campden, Zurich,
New Hamburg, Hanover, Stratford,
Otetercli:ffe and .St. Jacobs. He
retired from the ministry in 1936
after:• concluding his pastorate at St.
Jacobs and moved to Waterloo. Sur-
viving are his wife and one son, CIar
once W. 'Yager, of Detroit.
St. Joseph and Beaver Town
The annual •school concent of ,S.S.
No. 11 Hay, wa"s held in the school
house last ;Wednesday evening, when
approximately 250 people gathered
and to their dlight enjoyed the in-
teresting and well trained program.
'The main dialogue was very good and
deserves admiration. Much praise
is due to the children who to;rk part,
as well as to their teacher, Mr: W.
Brokenshire. The program which
lasted till near the 12 o'clock hour,
was followed by another interesting
item when Santa Claus presented the
gifts, which ,was much •enjoyed. In-
deed it was a great event.

Martin is the .instructor; while Mr.
John Denemme is the efficient leader.
