IThe extreme heat of the past week
when the mercury soared up near the

90 mark was changed to a little too
cool on Sunday, and since the days
have (been nice and bright but the
nights very cool. A good shower of
rain would greatly stimulate growth.
Mr. William Sparks of the Bron-
son line, ,Stanley Township recently
disposed of five two year old, cattle
o.f his popular Holstein herd. The sale
was made to Mr. Aldwyn, of Penn.,
and a very handsome figure was 'we-
ceived by Mr. Sparks. The cattle of
course were all Registered and blood
tested It pays to raise the best.

Attend Funeral
A number from town attenctecl the
funeral of Mrs. John Preeter which
was held from her home, Kitchener to
Lingelbach .cemetery, near Shakes-
peare, last Thursday .afternoon, Af-
ter her marriage the Pre:ater's moved
to Zurich where they resided until
1923 when they moved to New Ham-
burg, later on to Kitchener. Mrs.
Preeter had lived to the age of 72
years and 16 days, and leaves to
mourn besides her sorrowing husband;
one son Russell of Toronto, two dau-
ghters, Mrs. Rev. -Paul Price of Penn.,
and Muriel at home; one brother, Mr
W. L. Sio'beit of Zurich, a sister, Mrs
Brown of Kitchener. Their many
Zurich friends greatly sympathize
with the bereft husband and family.
Kicked a Skunk
A young man. from n„ar-by Sea -
forth thought he was doing his good
deed for the day when, as he appro.
ached his auto, he saw a dog appar-
ently ready to attack a tat. In the
dark he tried to kick the dog away,
but to his sorrow he kicked the other
animal, which he soon 'discovered was
a. skunk. He can bury his clother, he
told friends, but how can he bury the
.,ntire car, which smells badly .also.

25th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
Mr. and Mrs. George Becker of
