Heavy fall of Snow
A heavy .snow fall visited many
of the westerly parts of Ontario ov-
er the week -end. In the Sarnia; and.
Strathroy district something like 30
inches of snow fell, while at Goderich
about 10 inches, and here in Zurich
about six inches. The roads were
heavy and icy and many a motorist
lauded at places other than he wished
too. The nice warm weather today,
Wednesday is taking the snow down
somewhat, and it ,looks as if we were
getting rid of our "little winter.

Bruce County Council, C. R. Van-

the county announced his retirement
from municipal politics. Mr. Vandu-
sen declared that the day is not far
distant when county 'councils will be
abolished. He saw the action of the
Provincial Government in assuming
more of the work formerly allotted
county councils as indicative of this
'When that day comes; it will not be

'All In Entrance Class ' :
There is a public school' in McGil-
livray Twp., north of Ailsa Craig;
with but three pupils, each of whom
is in the entrance class. This is ac-
cording to reports of rural power of-
ficials, who recently canvassed the
district for hydro. It is probable that
the school inquestion will be wired
and made into a community centre.
Authorities concede this to be one
of the smallest school rolls in Ont-
ario. A strange thing about it, too
officials state, that in a near -by sec-
tion the classes are so well filled that
it has been (necessary to borrow sea-
ts and desks from the three -pupil
schoolhouse.„
