To Be Amalgamated Inthe shuffle among military dis- tricts in Canada, Huron Regiment is undergoing an almost complete cha- nge. The amalgamation of the Huron and Middlesex Regiments will shortly be announced officially. Wingham and 'Clinton companies have been ab- olished and the Wingham officers will join with the Seaforthcompany. Captain McIntyre and Lieut Lawson of (Clinton, will the with Goderich, which has been changed from "A" company to "C" company, and the remaining officers will go to Seaforth which will be known in future as D company. Ten days' training has be- en allotted to the regiment with two week -end trips to Cedar Springs for rifle and Lewis gun .practice. Huggart left Seaforth telling his family he was going to Toronto for a few days on business. Irregular- ities were first discovered late Satur- day morning when Joseph Gruiinett, Huron Road fanner and dairyman, found $2,000 missing from'his safety deposit box. Mr. Grunpett had been endeavouring for a week to secure $30 which the lawyer had collected for him. Becoming suspicious, he called Mrs. Huggard at her home Satiirday morning .. and she opened the vault giving his access to his box It was then the loss was discovered. The police soon took over possession of the affair and parties holding box- es were asked in to look at their se- curities, when it was discovered that bearer bonds totalling up to around 18135,000 were missing from the 'box- es which were in the big vault. These boxes are of wooden construstion. They rented at from $1 to $3 a year.
