Several of the organizations of the
Emmanuel Evangelical Church have
resumed their activities. Last Thurs-
day night the Ladies' Aid and W.M.
S. held its ,September meeting; the
committee in charge was: Mrs. M.

Mrs. Snider, Mrs. 0. Grein. Mrs: Hay

reside therein in the near future.
The local water system keeps on

on for appendicitis. 'We hope for a

interesting addresses 'were given by
Mi•. E. M. Dagg and Mr. J. A. Aril-

HAY COUNCIL
The regular monthly meeting of
the :council of the Township of 1 -lay
was held at the Town Hall, Zurich,
on hLonday, December 9tli, with all
members present. The minutes of the

Mr. Orville Witmer is making im-
provements to his home and mink

two stories high is being erected at
the west end which will be a great
convenience when finished,
Mrs. Elizabeth Zimmerman who has
been visiting relatives here for some
months left on Tuesday for North
Dakota where she will visit for a
time before returning to her home in
Yakahaina Wash. While here in
town she stayed with her sister Miss
Ida Brill.
Mr. and Mrs. Theo. Wagner and
baby boy of Guelph, visited at the
Wagner home on Sunday. Wo are
pleased to report that Mr. Wni. Wag-
ner is much improved and is able to
enjoy his meals at the familytable.
Miss Dorothy O'Brien has returned
home after spending the summer
months at Pine Croft, Grand Bend.
CO-OPERATION WANTED
The War Service Committee have
been requested to ask the people of
the coniniunity for donations of jams
jellies and marmalades. Apples may.
serve a good part of the fruit for ec-
onomy. The containers can be ob-
tailed from Mrs. T. Meyers. Show
your loyalty and give to this worthy

Mary Reichert, relict of the late
Johne Pfaff passed: away on Tuesday
attar a lengthy illness, aged 3:3 years
3 months and 8 days. Deceased had
.been ailing with old age afflictions
for some time and the end carie peace
fully. Always a hard working lade,
much. devoted to her home and fam-
ily, she knew all about pioneer life:.
