SEEKING DISTINCT UNIT
Huron Ooun.ty's proud and distill -
guts -hod record of Empire defence ov-
er a period of 70 years is deserving
of •.a better reward than the present
military set-up in Canada affords it.
So a county deputation, headed by
Warden G. Feagan, told Brig. Mac-
Donald, O.C. Military District No. L
The purpose of the delegation wast o
requestthat a distinctive Huron unitof Vienan parmancnt active militia
Of which the county boasted up tofour years agaa, be iastablished, At
present Huron is linked with Middle --
sex for militia purposes. The days at
the old 33rd Regiment which gave
men for the Fenian Raid, the North-
west Rebellion and the Boer War,;
and the Huron Regiment which re-
cruited the 1.61st Battalion, C.E.F:,,
for the 19114-18 war, were reviewed:.
It is estimated that already m thiav
